anyone know how it would work if you got multiple receivers, therefore, access cards, will they be effective at a different location? Is there a primary access card they're tie to? Of course understanding that the equipment(dish, receiver) is at the 2nd location as well... |

Good luck! to clarify what the first guy was trying to say/ask.........the AAA deal that expired on 12/31 was for $10 off PER MONTH for 24 months IN ADDITION TO the nationally advertised $20 off PER MONTH for 12 months. i got in on that deal, but i'm a little peeved hearing about the rumored 1/10/08 HD-DVR price drop (up front cost) to $99 instead of $199 (what I had to pay as a new subsriber). |

Even after taking into account the HD-DVR price drop to $99, you were better off with the $20 off per month + $10 off AAA discount that expired 12/31, since now it is $10 off per month + $10 off AAA discount. |

Green for OP! Saved $100 bucks for existing customer, only took 5 minute phone call. No biggie to add another year to my commitment as I have had DTV for years and love my lineup and HD channels. I will get a $50 bill credit next cycle and the second $50 credit in 13 months. |

I guess if your not an AAA member yet you can just figure your getting your membership for free by taking advantage of this deal. The AAA PLUS is around $80-90. |

Just make sure if you're going to take advantage of the deal as a new customer, that you need to mention the AAA savings BEFORE they activate your equipment, and I mean that literally. I tried to call and tell them about AAA savings a few hours after they came to install (i'm a new customer), and they won't give me the new customer savings, and are telling me I'm an existing customer. It's really annoying to tell them that uh that doesn't make any sense but they're really insisting on it. Their business tactics are very sketchy IMO. (Anyone know the best way I can resolve this? All they're saying is... "sorry." Sounds a lot like, "I don't really care.") |

I am in the same boat. Here is the number for office of President 1-800-445-2180. Someone called me when I wrote a nasty email to one of their executives (CS President or something) and threatened to complain to BBB. Call and harass them instead of stupid Customer Service. I am talking to a guy in this office, and if they don't give me $10 off for 2 years, then they can come and unistall everything. I have till tomorrow to cancel everything. I am sure it would be more expensive to unistall everything, since it took them almost a day to put it on. |

True however you get them for 3 months free - then $4.99 for those channels. Also your post has nothing at all to do with this AAA deal. I doubt many people would cancel because of this - Directv has the NFL Ticket & the most channels in HD right now. Go troll elsewhere Not trolling -- a simple question, nothing more... not to mention that not all of us are sports nuts. Each to their own. |

Staci- Take your fingers off the keyboard slowly. Breathe. Okay, good. Now slowly press the caps lock key. Okay. You're doing fine. That's right. Now check that the CapsLock indicator on your keyboard is off. Breathe again. Good. Now you can put your fingers back on the keyboard.
Oh, welcome to Fatwallet. |

Not trolling -- a simple question, nothing more... not to mention that not all of us are sports nuts. Each to their own. you started your post "not a hot deal" which has nothing to do with a question. your point taken but sports aside directv has the most hd available for the least amount even with the extra charge in 3 months $14.99 vs. $19.99 Dish and cable has far less channels. so saving $100 on a service already being subscribed to (i.e. sunk cost) is a hot deal for the majority on FW - again thanks to OP |

I'm curious about stacking this deal with the referral deal mentioned above. According to the AAA deal, you have to call a special number to get the deal. According to the referral deal, you have to call a different special number. Which number did you call? |
