I just went to the one next to the John Wayne Airport at Irvine, CA and they do not have this deal.

the waiters/waitresses even though the restaurant was pretty much empty, took FOREVER for each serving.

we literlaly had to wait 10 minutes for each serving.. so i basiclaly got about 7-8 pancakes in like a 45 minute sitting

either it's that.. or it was the ihop i went to

No, this is part of the standard procedures manual. I have a friend who managed an IHOP. The trick is to make you wait so that your stomach feels full. They don't want to bring you a stack and have you eat two bites and walk out -- some people would order a new stack, take a bite, and then leave. Lots of wasted pancakes.

But the irony is that pancakes are very cheap. You can get a box of pancake batter from Costco for $3.20 and that will make over 300 pancakes.

I can see some FWers just ordering that last stack and taking 1 bite...

I can see even more pocketing 3 cakes and ordering one more stack

They'll have to roll you out of the restaurant like one big pancake.

This might be a good time to mention that Wal-Mart has $4.00 prescriptions for Metformin, a type-2 diabetes drug.

Even hotter. In my newpaper today (reading Eagle) I got buy an entree get an entree free coupon or 20% of you check for ihop. So check your paper.

I also went to this "all you can eat" at IHOP last year with two other people. It was after a 10pm movie, lured in by their all-u-can-eat window sign. The other two both ordered a meal with bacon, sausage, eggs, etc. I just wanted the $6 deal. In about 8 minutes, out came our food. They both got their meat, eggs, and cakes all on a dinner plate but I just got a sandwich plate with three thin pancakes, not even an inch thick stack. We joked about the difference of what we got and the pictures hanging from the ceiling with cakes about 6" around and the stack about 2' high. Ours were small, almost 4" and quite thin. I finished mine in about four minutes. My casual attempts to catch the eye of the server failed. She did not come back until some minutes after both of the other two had cleared their plates. We asked for some more cakes. She cleared away our empty plates and we didn't see her again for about 20 minutes. During this time we ran out of conversation so we mostly just stared at the walls and comented on how long it was taking. When she showed back up, it was with three little plates, each with another two of the tiny pancakes. They were only warm (not hot), just a tad over crepe-sized, and scorched on one side. I then realized I had no fork but the server had hidden herself away again. We looked at our watches and realized we had been at IHOP for over 40 minutes. I guess this might be why they might think people order but do not want more. I assume this sale was their attempt to win us over as new customers. But because of their "all-u-can-eat" fiasco, we have not been back. I certainly am not going to pay $6 again for their "all-they-will-serve".

Priceless ...

At least someone is thinking about the health costs of these great eat-yourself-dead "deals".

For my one and only meal today I ate 11 pancakes, two eggs, and hashbrowns, and paid just $4.99. Our waiter, who was great about offering and bringing more pancakes told me that the store record is 21 pancakes. Guess I'll have to go back. And no, I am not a fat ball of lard - I just like pancakes and good deals.

I tried this last year. They only gave a couple to start with and it took a while to get another 3 pancakes. I stuck with the stuffed french toast and eggs this time. Overall it was a much more satisfying meal.

Shouldn't it be "all you want to eat" instead of "all you can eat"?

I went there yesterday, I had the regular for $5.99.

Ate the food fast, then headed for the 2 pancakes, ate another 3, and then finally ate another one. The waitress was nice and gave us the pancakes quickly! 6 pancakes. Yum.

Apparently, 3 pancakes is "all you can eat" for $6!

You have to be careful about the semantics/intonation of the sign!

I spent 45 minutes in one and only got 5 pancakes, 3 on the original meal and then 2 on a refill, before I decided I was there long enough

My last trip to Ihop was my last trip to Ihop. This is what I emailed Corp Office and heard
nothing back from them:

My family does not eat out very often as I'm a disabled vet but we made it to the IHOP as my wife had never eaten at an IHOP before. We were seated very quickly but upon being greeted by our server she informed us that she was not the regular server for that table and made some other comments. OK there is a negative already. She brought our drinks quickly and then we all ordered our meals. I made a simple request to put the sausage that came with my meal on the side as I dont like sausage so I could give it to my son. Well 25 mins later we are still waitig for our meals. We asked another server were our meals were as my wife said they have to be sitting somewhere getting cold. Now our meals appear. My pancakes are cold and soggy and the sausage is on the same plate and ask the sever If she remembered my request? Were now my meal disappears again. The pancakes are awful but being hungry I eat some and then give up. I was looking for hot nice IHOP pan
cakes like I've had before but these are not those pancakes. I'm upset and that makes my wife upset too. Well after some time the other part of my meal comes back but I refuse thinking of a recent TV program I saw stating never eat anything that is sent back to the kitchen as unknown things happen. I informed the server my whole family is upset with the whole deal and tell her I want my check. She said she was going toi talk to the manager. (Here is why I'm writing). When she comes back she said the manager determined we need only pay for the food we did not eat!!! Through the years my family has owned three restaurants and if we had a manager who would not personally come to the table to talk to the customers and REALLY make it right he/she would not be excused. The manager dropped the ball here. Anyway my wife/son got their meals boxed up and we paid for the whole meal and left upset and our evening out together was ruined. All I can say is very poor IHOP!

there are some IHOPs around here... but I can't even eat half of the pancakes they normally give you after all the other food you get (eggs, bacon, etc etc)...
