Heads up - Yahoo put the mail with the key from Foxit in the junk mail folder. So if you do not see anything in your email box, check the spam folder. I signed up for the efax trial. |

IrateConsumer I use skim. And you don't need to install anything to create a PDF in MAC |

Can we download and apply the Advanced Add-ons (Foxit PDF Editor 2.0) to the Foxit PDF Reader Pro Pack? Would that enabling editing? Nevermind, Foxit PDF Editor 2.0 is another software which required seperate license. Blip said:Note that the Foxit Reader Pro Pack does NOT appear to include the PDF Editor functionality. You can annotate, but not edit text in a PDF. |

Thanks, sry if ignorant ?
The PDF-XChange I mentioned earlier has a typewriter function, which will serve your purpose perfectly. The program is free and has similar functions as Foxit Pro.
update: sorry, I was actually referring to the FREE PDF-XChange Viewer.
link Link does not work Try this Link pdf xchange I tried the free download. Shows broken link. Instead asks for $0.99 for download |

Is their server down? I tried going to their home site: www.docu-track.com and it wouldn't load. I then tried the "Home Page" link within PDF-XChange Viewer and that didn't work either. I followed your link. The download link that asks for $0.99 is not the home page of the application. It looks like a software repository that offers premium downloads of free and shareware. |

MAC people will still use Adobe. Preview comes with MacOS X and views PDFs just fine. Producing casual PDFs is pretty easy, too, without extra software. |

I just canceled the efax account, and it took approximately 10 minutes. To help others in their cancellation process, I am posting this information. 1) To cancel the efax account, you will have to use their online chat feature. Go to this specific efax help page to access the chat: https://www.efax.com/en/efax/twa/page/help. 2) When the new page loads, enter your name and e-mail address, then hit the red "Start Chat" button. 3) From there, just talk to the efax representative. From what I can tell, the representative is a computer, but I did not look into this thoroughly so I am not certain. Note that you will need to have your efax number and PIN handy for the chat session. Here is what you can expect during the chat session (this is my own chat, of which I edited the numbers so private information is not shown). I am "Victor Ly" and the representative is "Dennis G." Welcome to chat. The session has been accepted. {Dennis G.} Hello, Victor. Welcome to j2 Global online support. I am Dennis, your online Live Support Representative. How may I assist you? {Victor Ly} Hello, Dennis, I hope you are doing well. I would like to cancel my efax account. {Dennis G.} I am fine, Victor. Thank you for asking. {Dennis G.} I am sorry to hear that you wish to cancel. Could you please provide me the fax number and the PIN associated with your account for verification? {Victor Ly} My efax Number is 1-408-###-####, and my PIN is ####. {Dennis G.} Thank you for providing your information. Please give me a moment while I go through your records. In the meantime, please type the number corresponding to your reason for cancellation:
1) Moving to another provider 2) Bought a Fax machine 3) Business or role changed 4) Short term project completed 5) Financial reasons 6) Problems with Faxing or Billing 7) Dissatisfied with Quality of service 8) Too Costly {Victor Ly} 2 {Dennis G.} Victor, we really value your association and relationship with us. Since you may currently have very less usage, we have an exclusive offer for you. If you wish to keep this account, then you can avail a one time offer on this account. {Dennis G.} You can keep this account at a one time activation fee of $6.95(Non-refundable) for 90 days [starts from the date of your sign up for the service] instead of paying $16.95 every month as monthly fee, during this promotional period. Thereafter, you will be charged the regular monthly fee of $16.95 per month. {Victor Ly} No thanks. {Dennis G.} As requested, I will cancel your account with immediate effect. {Dennis G.} We are sorry that you have decided to leave efax, but if your faxing needs do change in the future, we would be more than happy to have you back. Thank you for being with us and for using our service. {Dennis G.} Is there anything else, I can assist you with? {Victor Ly} Will I be receiving any confirmation e-mails that state my efax account has been canceled? {Dennis G.} Yes, you will receive the confirmation email at your registered email address. {Victor Ly} Okay, thank you, Dennis. {Dennis G.} You are welcome. {Dennis G.} Pleasure to be of assistance. {Dennis G.} Thank you for contacting j2 Global Online Support, I hope you found our session helpful. Bye and take care. The user has ended the session. Hope this helps! Feel free to copy and paste my sentences into your own chat session if you think they apply to you. Update: I recommend filling out their three-question survey after you are done with the chat session. At the bottom, mark that you want a copy of the chat transcript sent to you, just in case they try to pull anything. Within 25 minutes, I received an e-mail from them, and along with a copy of the chat transcript, the e-mail has the message, "Per your request, your account has been deactivated. Billing for your efax number will cease immediately" in it. Account successfully canceled =) |

dkong said:I wish Foxit would have a feature that allowed us to bookmark a page in a large file such as a big eBook, so we know where we left off last time.
I emailed them, and they said it's not available.
Does anyone know alternative programs that have this feature? Or is there a trick for doing it in Foxit? Call me old fashioned, but I normally work with a copy of large pdf (save downloaded original as untouched). So with my working copy, I just rename the file mylargebook.pdf to mylargebook_p219.pdf to mark my place. When reopening, I just use "Go To Page" and enter "219." Have been using Foxit for years (ever since the Adobe update scripts caused firefox and my security regime to page out (memory page not web page)) I have only encountered one website where Firefox did not open the pdf doc automatically (I had to save, then open with foxit as my default pdf reader). Out of curiosity, I did install Acrobat and it did open the doc in Firefox -- but saving a rare file then opening it manually hardly overcomes acrobat's frequent update script hassles and slow crawl overhead. I use OpenOffice (actually the Oxegyn version) to edit my docs then save as PDF (choose export as PDF after editing file). This is a free solution that allows me to edit any type of doc with any program (save Word docs as ODF - then open in OpenOffice -- then export to PDF) and save as pdf (and/or anything else!). Thanks OP -- great thread. Even though the offer was not for me, I learned alot from the FW inputs. |

An easier way to make a virtual credit card is through paypal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalplug-in Check it out. It's easy, you can create as many as you want on the fly, and it seems completely free! I used it to get some almost free stuff with trials from yourfree360games.com . |

have any of you guys tried out zoho's suite, try it out its amazing! PS: I signed up for efax trial, waiting for the foxit key, and then should cancel! OK, got my temporary license key and I replied back with the info they wanted. When do they send the permanent license key?Is that really required or can we get by with the temp key itself? |

I got my temporary key with a form to reply back. I got it only to the second email when I went through their referral link, so as it has been already pointed out, it does seem to matter. |

I gave up on Foxit several months ago and went back to Adobe, as much as it pained me. Foxit would give me nothing but a blank page about half the time I would try to open a .pdf with it. I tried googling for solutions and it seemed that there are a select percentage of users that can't get it to work right, no matter what they do. I'll have to give one of the other freebie .pdf programs mentioned earlier a try. Then again, perhaps as a confirmation of what somebody earlier stated about Adobe not being as bad as it used to be, I have noticed fewer problems with it of late. |

From my own experience, after edited I need to use Adobe Acrobat to check the document and some fonts are OK in Foxit they won't show in Adobe Acrobat. So I have to get back to Foxit to change fonts until I get the same printing from both Foxit and Adobe Acrobat. I just don't use Foxit to edit original document to a too much fancy one that people can't see them when opening with Acrobat. |
