I got my permanent license key as well. This time there is an attachment named frpkey.txt instead of the contents being inline. I will try to install it in the night. Thanks again, OP.

Bought 1-cent item(info) from eBay yesterday, got the temp key this afternoon and the permanent key this evening. Tried it just now and I like it. Thanks OP.

Your temporary license will expired next month.

PS: I signed up for efax trial, waiting for the foxit key, and then should cancel!
OK, got my temporary license key and I replied back with the info they wanted. When do they send the permanent license key?Is that really required or can we get by with the temp key itself?

Thanks OP! I placed an order from VistaPrint for 250business cards, for a business I recently formed, and a handful of notepads with my name on them. Something that I can actually use.

Also, I believe that the 'key' can be installed on multiple computers, as I have done so, and it seems to of taken well.

Thanks op!!!

I emailed them, and they said it's not available.

Does anyone know alternative programs that have this feature? Or is there a trick for doing it in Foxit?

Call me old fashioned, but I normally work with a copy of large pdf (save downloaded original as untouched).

So with my working copy, I just rename the file mylargebook.pdf to mylargebook_p219.pdf to mark my place. When reopening, I just use "Go To Page" and enter "219."

That's a smart idea. Thanks!

Bought 25c info @ eBay on Friday. I haven't received anything. How long does it take to receive license?

alert mods

I just got my permanent license today.. but it is only a 1-year license, says you must buy full product after 1 year for $40!!

My license arrived today too, I interpreted the e-mail to read that you can upgrade free for 1 year, but if any new updates come out after your year is up, then you have to pay to get the latest version....I'd better go re-read that e-mail

When did you buy from eBay?

I do received an email from foxitsoftware,in which I was told that "Your temporary key for Foxit Reader Pro Pack is attached." I was also asked to "save the attached key file to the same folder (Crogram filesfoxit softwarefoxit reader)." However, my gmail account simply add the content of the key file to the end of the email body, and as a result, I have no idea what the name of the key file is.
Thank you very much!

I realized a bit later that you just copy and paste everything you see on the bottom of the e-mail. Here is a sample of mine (I used the letters and numbers randomly, so don't try to use it):
[Foxit Reader Pro]
SN=FRLANEMP
Modules=
Users=1
Licensee=Evaluation User
ExpireDate=2008/01/13
LicenseDate=2007/11/14
Sign=9A0F5C4476L52CD49ANFF1019B3E5367A6D6E7F14426DCEF617032992146350419D5B5C62AD35F76

It's 12:30 at night and I'm about to blow a gasket!

They sent me an e-mail saying there was a "key file attachment" and there was not, just text at the bottom, similar to the above quote.

Please tell me step by step what to do with that text. I've tried everything and still get an error message and I'm hopping mad at Foxit for the crap directions and reference to an attachment, which judging from the above quote, I'm not the only one who doesn't have this phantom "attachment."

mastavic suggests to "just copy and paste everything you see on the bottom of the e-mail." WHERE??

I tried to do it in the box that appears when you select "Install License Key" pulldown under "help" for Foxit Reader 2.2, but I continue to get an error message and I'm triple checking everything.

Thanks for preventing a suicide...

I was pretty fazed by still not receiving any code from Foxit five days after I did the napster trial. Now reading all these issues with them, I am beginning to think that it's not that bad after all. I was going to write them about the key, but I decided not to bother anymore. Besides, I'll continue to use the free PDF X-Change Viewer that has almost exactly the same functions as Foxit Pro.

I use OpenOffice (actually the Oxegyn version) to edit my docs then save as PDF (choose export as PDF after editing file). This is a free solution that allows me to edit any type of doc with any program (save Word docs as ODF - then open in OpenOffice -- then export to PDF) and save as pdf (and/or anything else!).

If you're using Word, you don't need to go thru OO to get a PDF- Microsoft offers a free download of a plug-in for Office that lets you save as PDF (and for a couple things where I tried it both ways, it gave me better results than printing through CutePDF).

My big wish list is to save web pages as or convert them to PDF documents.

What is the best solution, NOT using Acrobat Pro Distiller (which I really like but it's too expensive)? In other words, something free??

I use PDFill - it is a free program (google it). It installs a virtual PDF printer and you can just do File -> Print on any website and print to that printer. It will prompt you to save the file as PDF.

Edit: Thanks OP. Took less than one hour to get permanent key file! I cancelled efax using the online chat in few minutes.. worked like a charm

Another great option is Pdf995:
Linky

It is ad supported (but the only thing that happens is a new window pops open to their homepage and you just close it). I've been using it for years and it works great. If you install pdfEdit995 you can manipulate pdf's as well .....

sc0rpio said:Here is a way to save Foxit PDFs without the watermark:

- Download & install Foxit Reader
- Download & install CutePDF Writer (It is a virtual printer that saves to PDF)
- Download & install Ghostscript Converter (Required by CutePDF. An open-source interpreter for the PostScript language and the PDF file format)
- Open a PDF file using Foxit Reader that you would like to type/edit.
- When done editing, click File > Print (not Save!)
- Choose CutePDF as the printer
- CutePDF will prompt you to name the edited PDF (Save to desktop for easy access to the file)
- EDIT: Exit Foxit Reader (do not save PDF when prompted!)
- Done! Your filled-in PDF has no watermark!

I've been using this method for several years now with no problems.

I downloaded and installed everything. When I opened a pdf and went to EDIT, MODIFY CONTENT, it tells me I have to download Foxit PDF Editor. I did that, edited the document, and tried to FILE, PRINT, and I get a pop-up that tells me the water mark will be added. There doesn't seem to be a way around it. Any ideas?
