Great idea, decent execution, but not the best packaging (too big for pant pocket, too small for keyboard, too slow running anything serious). After a few months and trips, I abandoned the Newton for a Thinkpad with no drive (disk/CD) because I needed a full keyboard. For those who got 1 today, congrats and enjoy. For those who wanted one but missed it, give the new Asus Eee PC and the Everex UMPC a look. They are all below $ 400 and has a real keyboard. Let me say I love the eee. But having said that, I prefer this. It's more versitle. 40GB instead of 4GB. If you want a keyboard, then use a keyboard. If you don't then don't. It's up to you. It also makes an awesome portable book reader. Something hard to do with the eee. |

It seems like this was a niche item that not a lot of stores carried. Only the stores outside of Los Angeles seemed to initially have them.
Sorry, I did it. Called there and placed order over the phone, picked up at about 2:00pm. WOW, I had no idea you could call a store directly and buy something right on the phone. |

It would be nice if Best Buy had enough confidence in the eee pc to actually sell it in their stores though. Right now they only sell it on their website, which cuts out a huge market of people who like to go into a store and check it out or discover it for the first time if they don't make it a habit of browsing items on their website. |

It's not confidence, it's prudence. There's just no need to have it in store. Asus sells every single eee they make. So why ship it to stores, so that they can just sell out and then have none in store anyways. |

Uggggh! Went on a wild goose chase in NJ. Went to the Woodbridge store, none there. Clerk checked and showed 1 at the Union store, 20min away. Got there and none were in stock. Clerk showed 2 in stock at East Hanover, another 30min away. Got there just before the 9.30p closing time and one of the reps said just sold the last two about an hour ago. Ugggh. |

Ugggh. look on eBay this week you'll get one for the same price + $50 shipping (since they'll try to cover their fees and hope to break even) |

Vista is highly NOT recommended on the Q1. Its so slow because 1.8" 4200rpm hard drive. Install XP on it and it runs great. |

The dudes there have a list of things to make vista way speedy. Some even said that they came back from XP to Vista because it runs so well if tweaked. |

I loaded Windows Tablet PC 2005 and it works great! 3.1.1 networking edition would've been faster seriously man get back to vista and tweak it a bit or downgrade to XP |
