I got these speakers and they have excellent sound and bass...no need to buy subwover. I got them at $39 each at the store when they had a price mistake.

I presume that "Cherry" is the color and not part of the model number? The picture shows black, anyone know where I can see what the cherry looks like?
Just chiming in to say these are the best speakers you will find FOR THIS PRICE. They will take a lot of volume without distortion, and have an impressive deep/rich bass. No brainer, I would buy them again and again.
Ditto - these are excellent speakers. If I was flush with cash right now I would buy another pair for rear surrounds. There is absolutely *nothing* on the market that can compare with these at this price.

Lousy picture, but you can try looking at the 2nd or 3rd picture on this Amazon listing: TEXT
does anyone know if these are available in-store for the same price (to save shipping)? Will they price match their on-line pricing i guess is the proper question?

I've had a pair of the R50's in Cherry color for about 2 years now. I love them, I definitely recommend these to anyone. Too bad they don't have the black ones for this price. I have them hooked up to some cheapo WalMart surround sound system, and they sound awesome. I can't imagine how they would sound on a quality receiver.

I did checked houston southwest store yesterday. Their price was $199 and they are not price match their online price nor other stores price. But like I posted at the beginning. yesterday online price is $199 too. I think their store new sale always start from Friday. so mostlikely their in-store price is $199
Black R50 available in bay area frys for 59.99 each.

You will often hear that these are good for the price but not really impressive for floorstanders. I agree with that (I have a pair), but one thing to keep in mind if you think you will save money with bookshelves is that floorstanders don't require stands. So that adds some value (say, $20-40) to these speakers.

Ordered two seperately to save on shipping. Paired them up with the R150's and CSi3 center for a new system. Old Fluance system is going to the bedroom surround.
The R150 bookshelf speakers are also on sale for $49.99+ shipping per pair.

I have the same setup with a BIC H-100 sub and an SR605 receiver. GREAT upgrade from my Z-5500's.
