Buy 5 qts of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Motor Oil of any viscosity and a Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil Filter for 34.94 + tax - a $15 MIR in store at Kragen until 2/24/08.
Deal is as follows:
Coupon Price for Mobil 1 Oil per Qt: $4.99 x 5 (usually 6.49) Coupon Price for Mobil 1 Oil Filter: $9.99 (usually 10.99) Mail-In Rebate for 5 Qts. Mobil 1 & Mobil 1 Oil Filter: -$15.00 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Total after everything per combo: $19.94 + tax on 34.94 = ~$23
This is a steal since usually Mobil 1 and the oil filter go for ~46 bucks after tax retail. This is good quality synthetic oil and not just some junky stuff. I saw this in store on a single sheet flyer (bottom right of page).
I'll try to put a scan of the ad tomorrow. Each store should have it right as you walk in.

Beware of Mobil 1 for cars which actually require synthetic oil. Mobil 1 has recently changed their formula and most of them no longer meet the ACEA A3/B3 rating and BMW LL-01 standards. Check your manuals to see if your car requires the higher A3/B3 standard. The only Mobil 1 that meets the higher standards is the 0w-40.

yes they do sell it for 22... thanks for reminding me. HOWEVER, this deal ALSO includes a $11 oil filter (retail price). if any other place sells it for less than retail that's great! but no place sells a $0 mobil 1 oil filter.

Yeah it has dropped from a Grade 4 Synth to a Grade 3. Formula changed about a year ago. Big commotion in the auto world and bobistheoilguy.com if you want to know more about what was in the change and other things about oil that website and their forums is the place to go.

German Castrol 0-20 is all I use in my cars. I've gotten great performance by using it with a normal change cycle of 6000 miles. 7500mi is the rated cycle; but I do a lot of hard driving.

Thanks for the post. I think that the Pennsoil deal is still on $1/quart after rebate.

P.S. I looked in the Advance Auto on-line ad and didn't see the deal, but I didn't see it in the Kragen on-line ad either.
