This has been a deal in the past, but a new Amazon rebate is up. $20/limit 2. Some of the really expensive filter may not be FAR - depends on which filter you need.

There does not seem to be any stipulations that it MUST be used through Amazon directly, so it looks as if any Amazon seller qualifes.

FIRST ----> Check for your filter part number Here

SECOND ----> See of Amazon has your filter.

Fram filters are crap. I wouldn't put one in my car, even if it was free.

Well, thankfully, they ARE free, in fact, they are paying you to take them in most cases.

Please, they aren't that bad, crap is a little harsh. You can go and buy K&N for the added air flow/HP but you will pay through the nose for that and more often too.

my family has been using Fram oil and air filters for 20 years and regularly get 200,000 miles from a car before we get tired of looking at em and pass it on.

So it appears they don't make these for normal passenger cars since I checked for our 3 cars and none of them have the Air Hog filters available.

Thanks, OP.

These "cotton" filters have very poor filtration efficiency. It's ok if you want to squeeze every HP out of your engine, but it's not a good idea if longevity of your engine is your concern. They do provide more airflow due to less restriction, but less restriction means less protection for your engine. Afterall, the filter's function is to protect your engine from small airborne dust particles, which can cause wear on your engine. The lubricating oil film thickness is on the order of 1 to 2 micrometer, and your filter needs to remove particles larger to protect the engine. These "screens" are so open that they can't effectively stop very fine particles.

I got one of these last time they were free. Cant tell much difference in my car.

So do any of you actually clean and re-oil them? How does that work?

It's easy, you just read the instructions.

Anyone know a good place to pick up the oil/cleaner kit used to maintain these things?

Thanks for the reply, but man that's nowhere near where I am in DC area. I tried the national and east coast auto chains, and Amazon, but no luck so far. There's an eBay store, with a $10 handling fee for a $6 item, which doesn't sound so great.

If anyone else knows where to get it, post away!

Just get the K&N brand kit (or separate larger cleaner and oil sprays), it's avaiable at most auto parts stores.
