This has been a deal in the past, but a new Amazon rebate is up. $20/limit 2. Some of the really expensive filter may not be FAR - depends on which filter you need.

There does not seem to be any stipulations that it MUST be used through Amazon directly, so it looks as if any Amazon seller qualifes.

FIRST ----> Check for your filter part number Here

SECOND ----> See of Amazon has your filter.

Fram filters are crap. I wouldn't put one in my car, even if it was free.

Well, thankfully, they ARE free, in fact, they are paying you to take them in most cases.

Please, they aren't that bad, crap is a little harsh. You can go and buy K&N for the added air flow/HP but you will pay through the nose for that and more often too.

my family has been using Fram oil and air filters for 20 years and regularly get 200,000 miles from a car before we get tired of looking at em and pass it on.

So it appears they don't make these for normal passenger cars since I checked for our 3 cars and none of them have the Air Hog filters available.

Thanks, OP.

Air hog sold out for my accord

fits my grand am...thanks

These "cotton" filters have very poor filtration efficiency. It's ok if you want to squeeze every HP out of your engine, but it's not a good idea if longevity of your engine is your concern. They do provide more airflow due to less restriction, but less restriction means less protection for your engine. Afterall, the filter's function is to protect your engine from small airborne dust particles, which can cause wear on your engine. The lubricating oil film thickness is on the order of 1 to 2 micrometer, and your filter needs to remove particles larger to protect the engine. These "screens" are so open that they can't effectively stop very fine particles.

Amazon doesn't sell any of the ones I need.

Not even through any 3rd parties on their site?

I got one of these last time they were free. Cant tell much difference in my car.

So do any of you actually clean and re-oil them? How does that work?

It's easy, you just read the instructions.

Anyone know a good place to pick up the oil/cleaner kit used to maintain these things?

Thanks for the reply, but man that's nowhere near where I am in DC area. I tried the national and east coast auto chains, and Amazon, but no luck so far. There's an eBay store, with a $10 handling fee for a $6 item, which doesn't sound so great.

If anyone else knows where to get it, post away!

Just get the K&N brand kit (or separate larger cleaner and oil sprays), it's avaiable at most auto parts stores.

thanks op, found two I could use this spring, -$14 AR.

Their standard oil filters are, indeed, crap. Their air filters are okay.

Can somebody post the link to the rebate? Or am I missing it? I need coffee!

mandyfig said: Can somebody post the link to the rebate? Or am I missing it? I need coffee!
See the first post, link is there.

Thanks for the wake up call!

Is this a legit rebate? I do not see it when purchasing the airhog filter on teh Amzon website. The old one had 2 pages on it. When printed it looks aweful. ??

Give me a break. Just because their not "high end" doesn't make them crap. The air hog line filter just as well as any. I've torn down many a intakes and the results are almost always the same - if ya don't change ANY filter once in a while, you're asking for trouble (ounce of prevention, you know). You want to pay more, go ahead but you're wasting $. Racing is a different animal gear heads so don't rationalize my point, please. This is becoming mantra here - "Gotta love free" folks.

Got link?

Some of the Air Hogs do not show the rebate link. I guess not all of the filters are valid? The form does not disqualify some filters. Also says, name of store....id this valid for other retailers? I checked the Fram website, no mention of rebate.

Frams website is the biggest POS I have ever been to. The navigation is worse than poor and you need to input a Fram part number to find out the correct Fram part for your vehicle....STUPID

Incorrect.
There is an area where you put in your vehicle and year.

I can not find this rebate on FRAM's website (http://www.fram.com/rebate/?productID=5 ). The rebate link in the original post is very blurry and for a ...g-ecx.images-Amazon.com... , is that really an Amazon website?

original rebate link???????

thank op

if i buy two, how to file the rebate? two envelops? one envelop?

I'd recommend using envelopes, not envelops

I thought the same. Don't use Firefox, use IE, and it will work ok. But only use IE this one time, then go right back to Firefox. OK?

I rofl @ their website. Might just have to go to the local auto parts store to use the catalog as it would be faster.

is it necessary to create an account to look up which part i need?

Frams website is a joke. I can't find where I suppose to go to search for the filter# for my car.

-edit- found a compatible part# using Amazon's system. PPA7365. Price is $34.49 plus $5.50 shipping. Not free for me and I'm not spending $20 after rebate for it.

This FRAM Air Hog filter is only $14.04 so order two for $28.08 (get free shipping) and after $40 rebate make $11.92.

Thanks.
