ha ha ha
I actually bought that watch because I thought it was an awesome looking watch...I didn't find out till almost 6 months later when someone thought that it looked like a rolex and they showed me a pic. Truthfully it kind of took the fun out of wearing my watch.

I've been looking for a nice watch and am looking at the Tag Carerra Twin time or Chrono.I'll get an Omerga or something when I get older.

Then take the rest of your $900 and light it on fire. Because this deal is a waste of money. I didn't even know people wore watches anymore. If you want to check the time, look at your cell phone. I guess this deal is geared more towards people who don't own cell phones.

Watches...that's so 1990!!

Umm... this sells for about $1700. Go buy your crap watches and keep buying them year after year after year and then add up how much your watch actually costed.

My $60 Fossils last 10 years or more. Guess if I live to be 300 years old you've got a point.

But I digress, buy a "REPLICA" rolex. You can get them with the genuine swiss movement for under a tenth the cost of the real thing - thats the FW way. There's some pretty good counterfeits out there.

What you think, "I'm a badass"

What 99.9 percent of other people think, "He's a douchbag with a fake Rolex"

What .1 percent of people think, "nice watch, I wonder if it's real"

alert mods

Hate to burst your bubble, but most of the fakes don't have Swiss movement. They may say swiss movement, but you'd be stupid if you believed it. First off, if it's a fake Rolex, do you really think they're going to put genuine Swiss movement in there? Be real. I lived in NY for 20 years. I've seen plenty of the fake TAG and Rolex watches on the street. They all said Swiss Movement at the 6 o'clock position.

And the fact that you've got "Replica" written down the side of your gun...

And the fact that I've got "Desert Eagle point five O"...

....but I digress....sadly this watch is over 5% of my gross annual income :'(

I do like fancy watches though!

I only purchased my wife a quarts Tag because I didn't see many autos for the female. I just looked it up on their website and the only one that fits her style is the Carrera. Still think she would have picked the Aquaracer over it (has a diamond bezel also).

Edit: showed her the link and she said ewww to the Carrera.

All I can think of is "WHY?".

there's no way in hell i'd pay this much for a quartz watch.

but there are watches out there that run into the millions. they're more or less art pieces that you don't normally wear on your wrist.

anyways, here's a MUCH better Oris w/ automatic movement and true complications. it also looks a hell of a lot better than that lousy overrated tag.

oris watch

That's obviously a matter of opinion, because I think that is absolutely fugly, unless you're looking for more of a "fem" look in your watches.

As far as Tags being "overrated", all of mine (I have three- one Link, one S/el, and one 2000 series) have been excellent watches, and still look like new even though the oldest one is almost 10 years old.

watches are about more than looks. if you feel these are "fem" watches and feel you need show masculinity by throwing a heavy brick on your wrist, then by all means go for it.

i fail to see your point about the "new" appearance to your 10-year old tag. i have 20 year old seikos that are new in appearance. i hate to break it to you, but if you look after anything, chances are it'll last.

i guess by your reasoning, patek philipphe watches are "fem" looking too.

If you're going to try and make a point, at least try to attack both parties equally. My response was to the original poster commenting how the Oris looked better, and I disagreed and offered my own opinion (and stated it was a matter of opinion in the first line of my response).

Sorry you feel the need to try and argue my opinion, you failed in that regard...especially after the Seiko-Tag comparison.

it appears you don't know much about watches. let me drop a little knowledge to illuminate your ignorance.

but before i do so, i think you missed the mark, i wasn't comparing a tag to a seiko. the simple point that you failed to grasp was about the longevity of an item that well looked after.

having said that, let's get back to the little education session. seiko INVENTED the quartz movement that this precious tag uses, along with some useful movements such as the kinetic movement that'll give a watch 6 months w/o a battery. seiko's been around for a while and they have some legendary watches such as the monster dive watch series - which people who know something about watches will gladly pick over your precious and over-rated tag.

given the choice between a quartz watch, i'm sorry, but you have to be an idiot to pick a tag over an upper end seiko that'll still cost you a fraction of the price of the tag.

given the choice between a watch based on an automatic movement, you'd be an idiot to pick a tag over a comparably priced IWC, Omega, Oriz... you get the picture.

Nothing says I know nothing about watches more than spending 5K on a Rolex.....

Nothing says I know nothing about class than your statement! Rolex Submariners are awesome!

Quartz or not. Sucko (i mean seiko) did does NOT have swiss movement or construction. They are manufactured on assembly lines in taiwan.

If by class you mean credit card and sport car debt.... you'd be right. I have none......I paid cash for my 300hp sports car.

Panarei, IWC, Zenith are class. Rolex is trash. Rolex screams "I know nothing about watches, but I have a Visa and want people to look at me."

Who care what others think? How about what you think when you look at your watch
and it hasn't crapped out on you. If you live to think that your Hole-ex means
anything to anybody but you you are a douchebag (yes with an e on the end).
Maybe you shouldnt have graduated since you cant spelllll...

Ahhh yes, the "legendary" monster dive watch series...nothing says I'd like to have a really nice dive watch but can't afford it...so I bought this instead... like straping one of those boat anchors to your wrist, right? It even comes in florescent green and orange so it fits your obnoxious and abrasive personality. No wonder you like Suckass...er oops, I mean Seiko so much.

Also, just to clear up your misconception on your seiko/Tag comparison...sorry that YOU missed the mark. I wasn't talking about some watch that spends 90% of it's time in a box in a drawer. My 2000 is my daily beater watch, and I'd be 99.9999% positive that over a 10 year period, if I wore your POS seiko on the same arm right next to my Tag, doing what I do on a daily basis that seiko won't hold up nearly as well as the Tag that you DID compare the seiko to in your post.

Now- please run along as your silly pointless tirade is getting boring. The thread is about a Tag. If you're not interested, why bother posting at all?

Nothing says I have credit card debt more than a Tag or Rolex. Nothing says "I'm a douche bag" like thinking you're something special because you own a watch that 600,000+ other people bought that year.

Seikos are great watches.

That's why you should use a debit card like I did.

This has degraded into a stupid p*ssing match. Who cares? Just buy a watch you can afford and be happy with it. What does it matter if someone spends 5K or 10K on a watch? It's not your money, so get a life and move on. If you think anything more than a Timex is overpriced, then enjoy your Timex and shut up. If you think Seiko is crap and TAG is awesome, enjoy your TAG. If you think TAG sucks and Rolex rocks, then good for you too. Why can't we all just get along...

Hello, it's good to see you all. However, I'm trying to work in the back room. That takes some concentration. I don't mind you talking about the biz (that being watches and all), but please don't talk about others in my shop. It's very disruptive. If this keeps up, I might have to come out here to monitor the conversation.

*watchmaker plops visor back on head and shuffles through the hanging curtain into the backroom*

I own a Samsung T809 and a blackberry, which also doubles up as my cell phone and alarm clock, and the blackberry also has a GPS and location finder, the best thing is it automatically adjust the time when I fly from across time zones without my having to adjust it manually or for daylight savings.. and it is always in my pocket when I am out of the house. when I am driving my Camry or Prius I have the time displayed on the dashboard.

AT home I have two cable boxes, Oven and microwave which displays the time all the time even in the dark.. , that apart at home I have 4 handsets Panasonic phones with service from Verizon and they display the time on the caller id all the time.. and I also bought some good clocks from Homegoods and Ikea and have installed them on the walls including the bathroom so that my daughter can get ready on time and not miss her school bus.. I have time all around me all the time.. For me, I am not sure in case its worth increasing the weight on my wrist for a watch TAG watch while reducing the weight on my hip (wallet)... and still look at the same time .. which of course is not improving as we live in today’s world.. I would personally grab this watch if it could get the good old time back…

alert mods

i wonder if they will ever do a F&F sale again like they did a few months back...I'm still kicking myself for missing that one!

But after reading the exhaustive account of the poster above me, I realized I don't have nearly as many clocks around me as some of you do...and I tend to just glance at my wrist when i need to find out what time it is rather than grab my cordless phone, or keep my cell on me all day.

But as far as discussing the deal: I do think that this is a pretty solid deal. Usually a B&M will get you around 15-25% off of retail and you can easily get near 30% off retail if you wait for a sale at Macy's and sign up for the card. But this beats those so I would consider it pretty hot. Not as hot as the F&F deal, but who knows if that will ever come back and its hit or miss on the styles and colors they offer.

alert mods

That's the funny thing. Despo states he's got clocks seemingly all around him specifically so he can know what time it is, when all he has to do is buy a damn watch. With as many clocks/electronics as he rattled off that he checks the time on "glancing around", he was probably at least 3/4 of the way there cost wise as the Tag listed by the OP (if not more) and STILL doesn't have the exact same functionality of a wristwatch, no matter how hard he tries.

How logical is that?
