Thanks OP. Amazon seems to put most of the Skagens on sale every few months (see this 2007 FW thread, for instance). This is definitely a good price if Pricegrabber is accurate. The darker-faced twin to this model, #233XLSSM, was on sale for $52 back then, just FYI.

And speaking of PriceGrabber...while it lasts, there's a $5 PriceGrabber review rebate available on this model. Search "233XLSS" at the PG site. Rebate disappears once 50 people have downloaded a copy.

IMHO this gold-tone Skagen with leather band looks pretty good at $59.99. It also has a $5 PriceGrabber review rebate available.

$50 is a great price for a Skagen watch. But, I would not get the mesh style, that style was in 3 years ago, and it looks dated today. I would get the classic black band. The watch has a slim profile, and the replacement for the band is very reasonable. I bought the black round face watch 3 years ago for $100. I did have an issue with the mechanics of the watch, but Skagen stood behind their lifetime warranty, and got a replacement for the cost of S&H (8.95).

Dillards.com has a few Skagen watches at around 50% off. I just ordered and already received a black titanium with titanium linked band. Real nice watch so far. Has day/date - and a second hand. Super light weight which is why I was interested in it. It's $105 at dillards.com regular 225.

I purchased one from Amazon and the paint started flaking off after 2 days. It was a shame because the price was right and the watch looked great. Yes, buyer beware.

I bought a similar watch a few years ago from Amazon. It's extremely light and very comfortable to wear. However, a few months after I got it, a few of the links broke in the wrist strap. It's still wearable, just that sometimes things can get caught on the broken links. Skagen wants $35 for a new band.
