Actually, purchase date is April 5th, but activation deadline is May 5th. It's on page two of the rebate. inphoenix said:
How fast is the delivery? Are you sure you will get them before 4/5? They need to activated before 4/5. 5th is Saturday so need to have them by 4th!!
As an FYI, the quote that you get from Shop.com is not what you'll get billed by TD. I ordered through shop, and was billed by TD for the same price that I would have gotten from TD direct. So if the $10 off comes through, then it will be ~$7.60 cheaper by going through shop. Your credit card will show TD as the selling party.
NoMoneyInMyWallet said: I ordered directly from TD, since shipping for 2 was actually more through shop .com; plus fat cash @ TD = 3% vs. 1.5% @ shop .com. Even with the $10 off code, shop .com would have only been $3.50 cheaper.
TD = $16.25 for 1, $23.83 for 2. shop .com = $13.99 for 1, $27.98 for 2.

jghanisco already explained the activation deadline.BTW, I do have a feeling that TiVo will come out with another rebate after 4/5 but nothing has been announced yet.I'm sure they will, but I wanted to be sure to get in under the current rebate, leaving the next rebate open for another deal. |

Thanks again you guys. I ordered one more. They say it will be here on 4th. If someone else is on the fence like I was, now is a good time to order. |

Can someome check their rebate status online and share the info. One person had their rebate rejected and the reason was 'due to third party rules'. |

If it is like before with the holiday rebate, you can send it in, but activate it when or before you send it in so that the 30 days of active service starts before they process your rebate. If they see no service active, the 30 days won't start, and they may reject. Otherwise I see no danger of rejection with this rebate. TiVo REWARDS DEADLINE (don't let those referrals go to waste!): - Can't create new TiVo rewards accounts (since 2/28) - Must receive referrals by April 28th 11:59PM ET to get them (so activate these TD units before then!) - Must spend those referrals on rewards by May 28th! |

If you've reached the limit, you'll have to set up another account or delete some from your current account. Note that some features are only applicable to TiVo's within the same account. |

He didn't wait for his 30-day activation to expire before sending in the rebate, so that was an error on his part. There is no such requirement to wait 30 days. All my rebates were mailed or entered online on the day of activation. The user had to call rebate center and it was cleared up. Rebate processing center goofed up. Again, don't waste time by waiting 30 days. Send in rebates ASAP. They will wait 30 days before they approve them but it's okay to send them in. |

Of course, by the time the user called, the TiVo had been activated for 30+ days. My advice is to send the rebate immediately after you activate the TiVo. |

My advice is to send the rebate immediately after you activate the TiVo. That is what I was trying to convey.... (Edit) that the poster screwed up, but the rebate was still valid and corrected. I've sent mine in before the 30-day also and they've always gone through. No need to wait people, just note that you'll have to wait your 30-day activated TiVo before any rebates are validated. |

Note that some features are only applicable to TiVo's within the same account. There is no such limit. You can activate more than 5 TiVo's on an account. You just lose the MSD on any more than 5. I'm thinking about doing this deal again just for the reward points. This will cost me $36 since I'm maxed out on my account, but it might be worth it for the one more referral I need. |

I am about to order 2. I've never had TiVo before. Does anyone want the referral in exchange for walking me through the rebate process to make sure I don't mess it up? |

mashav said:I am about to order 2. I've never had TiVo before. Does anyone want the referral in exchange for walking me through the rebate process to make sure I don't mess it up? You will enjoy TiVo, it does change the way you watch TV, time-shifting things to fit your schedule... I would be willing to help you through that. I did the holiday rebate, and got all rebates back, now I am going to do this one as well, already have the units in my possession. If you have not ordered, check the first page. Not sure if it is that much cheaper to go through Shop.com when you order 2, shipping seems to end up about the same, but I went through Shop.com (linked to it from FW so you get a little FatCash if you have signed up for it). If the $10 off $100 or more coupon code still works it might be worth it, that part is kind of a personal choice. Keeping it simpler, order directly from TigerDirect.com. Willing to help you along with whatever pointers I can, regardless of what you decide to do with your referrals. I will PM you my email address (so it won't get picked up by spammers which harvest emails from open forums like these). Looks like TD offers 3% FatCash? through this page? not sure though. I have never gotten enough FatCash to make it worth asking for it, yet. TD Fatcash So from that page, click on "3.0% Cash Back available" link, then on the TD page search for "TiVo", first item in search should show TiVo dual tuner for $79.99, click on that, the full page should show "TiVo Series 2 80-Hour Dual Tuner Digital Video Recorder With 3 Month Free Service Gift Card" for 79.99. Add them to your cart and go from there... The "new" summer rebate program sounds exactly like the spring one with a different title. When you get the units, activate one of them first and set up your account online with that TiVo service number (TSN) and use one of the 3-month gift cards on it. The second unit you activate should then be eligible for a multi-service discount (MSD). Then it is time to cut out or copy UPC codes on outside of boxes to send in with the rebates... their terms are pretty clear on the rebate forms. Last I heard prequalify online was not working. Either way, activate both units BEFORE submitting rebates. Keep a copy of everything. I kept the original UPCs and photocopied them for the rebates since they accept photocopies (double-check terms).
