I'm not sure if TD is an authorized retailer... According to the OP over at SD, a CSR from PO claimed that TD was, but unless I see it in print somewhere from TiVo, IDK. At this time, I'm personally not willing to deal with the fighting for a rebate as some of us had to do the last time with our TiVo purchases. I will update the OP if more info is provided.
*(6) Valid only for new, TiVo Series2 and Series3 Digital Video Recorders purchased from an authorized TiVo retailer or through our website (www.TiVo.com).
Series2 DVRs and Series2 DT DVRs are compatible with Dish Network receivers that support IR control; however, the Series2 DT DVR only has single tuner functionality when it is set up with satellite input.
If you have a Dish Network receiver that does not support IR control, the DVR will not be able to change the channel on your satellite receiver.
We are aware of two Dish receivers that do not support IR control: # EchoStar 4000 # JVC 4500
Notes Series3 HD DVRs are not compatible with any brand of satellite receiver.

This same machine is still free hereFree Tivo. Seems to be a better deal than $79.95 with the 3 months of free service factored in. Although I don't believe that the KidZone TiVo is eligible for multi service dicounts.

If you can get the rebate it is not even close becuase the rebate definitely won't work with this one.
Ahh yes, I prob was, sorry about the confusion. I was startnig to think maybe the deal was dead or something and we def. weren't getting rebates for it.
Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something...

In regards to TiVo rebates, the authorized retailer is vague. I bought a S2 DT at Big Lots and with a little prodding, my $150 rebate has been approved, despite the fact that there was information to the contrary.

CSR from TiVo Rebates. Began with a few emails, then I called and then followed up with a couple more emails.
I activated lifetime for my FIL (he sprung the other $299). Once I get the rebate, I make $10 and he gets a lifetime TiVo for $299. Not as hot as the CL TiVo's I got (3 X 140 hour S2 = $375) but not too shabby either.
For what it's worth I got two rebates for $150 on TiVo S2 DT purchased from Tiger Direct around Christmas time. I couldn't submit the rebate online, said there were no rebates available for my TiVo service number. I contacted TiVo via email and they said they didn't know why the rebate wasn't showing up as valid and to try mailing in the rebate. I mailed in the rebate, and I was thinking Tiger Direct wasn't an autorized retailer and I wasn't going to get the rebate, but i got an email about a week ago saying I was approved and my check would be in the mail.
I don't know if the rebate will work when combined with the 3 month free promotion, but apparently TiVo rebates are valid on purchases from Tiger Direct. I didn't have to fight TiVo to get it or anything, not even a phone call, I was a little worried when I couldn't submit online but after mailing it in I was approved without any hassles.

Thanks, I went in for two. Hope the rebates go through.
Ok, just got my two tivos in the mail. What do I need to do to get the rebates? Also, is the service location specific, or TiVo serial number specifc? Thanks!
CONSUMER ALERT This television receiver has only an analog broadcast tuner and will require a converter box after February 17, 2009, to receive over-the-air broadcasts with an antenna because of the Nation’s transition to digital broadcasting. Analog-only TVs should continue to work as before with cable and satellite TV services, gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players, and similar products.
All these old tivos will no longer work stand alone?

This means if you hook an OTA Antenna to your TiVo after next February, that it won't work. It has nothing to do with cable or satellite. The converter boxes that coupons are being generated will fix the problem. The TiVo's only have NTSC tuners built in.

I feel like my parents here.. lol so will i need a converter box come feb if I have this TiVo?

Has anyone checked their Billing History after activation using this process? I noticed a strange problem, after activating and having receipt showing GC applied to MSD sub. My acct shows a $103.xx balance? Also it won't allow any further activations until I fund the acct? The card is fine. Thing is, I have additional business and am currently stalled! I have a feeling they(TiVo csr) will not be receptive to applying a GiftSub to an already discounted MSD + Holiday pricing new activation as the website(glitch) was/is.LOL! .................
nope, i had no problem, i activated all 3 of mine using the gift sub. I really wanted to do the lifetime as advertised on the gift sub for 299, but they would not honor that.

You are correct. If a unit is activated using a Gift sub, no additional gift sub can be used for paying down the balance.
Well, my year ends tomorrow so I just called to cancel service on 1 DT and to discuss plans and pricing for service on our second DT. I was offered 4 free months for both units (which I accepted).
Also FYI, the pricing he quoted me for single unit service was $9.95 monthly or $99 annually. I think this is the MSD price, but he said he would give me that rate for a single unit.
