Just closed what I think is a pretty great deal on a new 2008 Honda Odyssey and wanted to share my info so that you can get the same deal. I searched the web looking for the best prices that everyone else was finding and I used that to scour my region for a dealer that would work with me. I worked with dealers in Omaha and Kansas City but could not get them to come close to the $24,200 that I was hearing about in Virgina. Then, on my first email to Clay Olson at Holmes Honda in Des Moines Iowa he beat the locals and shot me his bottom dollar that undercut my locals by $700.
Here are the details
$29,595 MSRP (included here for laughs)
$24,000 quoted price (cash deal, I did not ask about loan/lien info)
$0 destination charge
$185 doc fee
==============
Out the door $24185 (taxes/title not included).
He also tossed in the mud guards and paint protection (whatever that is).
I also asked what his price would be if I wanted an EXL model (includes leather, sunroof, and variable cylinder management) and he quoted $27,000.
From what I've read, there is a $2300 manufacturer incentive program running until March 3 that is playing into the deals right now. (March 7 UPDATE: It looks like the incentives have been extended through March)
Knowing that this was a pretty sweet deal, and he was a nice enough guy to work with I asked if he would honor this price if I sent in a few friends, and he said sure. So friends, tell Clay that Mr. Krusemark sent you.
Here are some links that you'll find of interest if you're reading this thread in the future and want to know what the going street prices are.

If you're not specifically interested in an Odyssey but want to research prices look into the following
Search for "Prices Paid" the forums at http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/
www.costcoauto.com was mentioned as possibly offering online prices that are better than www.CarsDirect.com and www.edmund.com (thks buymenow)
For our Sienna fans you might look for similar deals (and quality issues) at
http://www.siennaclub.org/ (thks maestroX2)
Good luck to all...and if you've found a lower price please post it in the wiki for the others to benefit from.
