Apparently from reading the reviews, these were once offered at 2 dollars.

That may be the case, but doesn't add a lot of value to the discussion (cue the oft mentioned time machine reference). $7.99 ain't too shabby for folks who need headphones TODAY. Thanks OP for sharing, in for a set.
OOS already for delivery on CircuitCity.com. Store pickup still available. Good deal. Thanks, OP.

Did any reviewers find a pair on the bus? Because those were mine.
I got mine on clearance at Target. I love them! They work great for noise cancellation purposes and have good bass and sound quality. I use them with my Itouch on the plane with movies, music, etc.
Only thing to remember, on landing, pull them out so you can depressurize your ears. Otherwise, OUCH!
Without a doubt, these are the best budget earbuds I have ever listened too. I have friends that have the $99+ jobs and think these sound as good.
They were $20 at most stores and then CC had them for $8 or $10 during xmas. I bought several pairs.
Another good thing is that they are efficient, so you don't need to turn up the volume on your device to get good output.
I also use them when riding my street bike because they block most outside noise, but that means that if you use them around the house and people are talking, you will not hear them.
Being that this is Circuit City, if you do in-store pickup, you probably want to add some other junk in the order to get the order total above $25. This way, if they don't have the earbuds when you get there (very likely), you can at least force them to give you the $24 gift card.
Out of almost a dozen times I've ordered a CC hot deal for in-store pickup, they've only had the items once or twice. The rest of the time, they have some excuse and I end up leaving empty handed.
my Staplesz had them for $13.90 in all the colors later last fall. I haven't seen them recently though. They are great - I'm using with my Sandisk E250 and my son is using them on his Zen. They are very good at blocking outside noises.
Just took a look and saw that the JVC Marshmallow buds are still $10 too.
I use these with my Zune and I think they sound very good and I like the way they fit in my ears.

Good point. Was wishing I had more on my order last night when I picked mine up. They had to do a "go-get" on them since they didn't have them at the counter. The funny part was I was reading their white board in the back which basically said they had 11 "complaints" about go-gets recently and they needed to improve which I take it means 11 $24 gift cards. I had ordered about 5 hours prior so I sense a lack of apathy at that store. Might have to do all my $25+ pickups there from now on!
As for the earbuds, they sound decent. They have more bass which I like but I think my razor ear buds are more true to the actual sound and have better highs.
The in-store price at CC is actually only $14.99.
I bought on-line using a one-time credit card #. The cashier didn't understand what that was. He'd never heard of such a thing and told me to produce the credit card or lose the discount.
Another worker come over, stared at the register for a bit, then pushed the F1 key. This apparently over-rode the credit card requirement and I was allowed to buy this at the web price.
thanks op! i already own two of these ear buds for my ipod. has more bass than, say, ipod original earbuds, they don't fall out easily if you use the cushions that best fit your ears, and the color choices allow you to match them with various nanos. the noise cancellation is great for the price. made an order over $25, but i hope they have the earbuds ready in stock instead of the giftcard.
Crap.
I had one in my cart for local store pickup.
While I was selecting other items to bring the total to $25 for the 24 minute roulette, It went out of stock.
So much for cheap buds.

Do the JVC's or Skullcandy's have better sound quality? They both block sound, with the JVC slightly better at blocking sound, right?
Back in stock at $9.99 - thanks OP!
I bought a set and they stopped working after 3 uses. I also didn't like the fact that if the wired between the headphones and the mp3 player would move (think jogging or any type of cardio). The vibrations would travel up through the wire into your ear and almost overpower whatever you were listening to. I would not recommend these.

ugh, i agree with you. got in on this deal for two pairs. they are definitely NOT worth the MSRP of $19.99. I'm not sure if they're worth the $7.99 sale price. They block out noise decently enough, but they seem to add their own vibration noise that is quite distinctive when you jostle your MP3 player. This doesn't happen with my cheapo Sony earbuds.
