I had one on my ipod nano. The thing is tough, but there are drawbacks. Pros Warranty suppert from Invisisheild is superb product was cut perfectly to fit Tough reusable to some extent Cons Any buttons it covers lose their 'click' - they still work but they are much, much softer. Apple says these will void your warranty (because of the way liquid is used to apply them). There's poterntial to fry your appliance (because of the water used to apply it) and many people have. I would never use this on a touch (because the feel is very sticky and you won't be gliding any fingers smoothly across this) Causes some rainbowing of LCD displays (most protectors do) It does not work well around curves. |

I was actually hesitant about purchasing due to price, but at 50% off, I was hooked. So I Ordered on 2/29 w/free shipping and I received it on 3/10. It was shipped out of Salt Leke City, UT. I installed screen protector on my camera, canon sd870is, and a full body on my phone, lg voyager. Putting it on was more tedious than difficult. There is some glare as the non-sticky side is shiny. My overral experience was very good. I'd definitely recommend this product at the 50% off price. |

Was getting ready to pull the trigger but am confused by the 'Free Shipping' policy -- anyone understand what does qualify? (I might do two separate orders if putting in the screen protectors from other items makes that happen...) from the site's FAQs: A: Free shipping is an option on all orders except for those including laptop shields or iPod accessories (due to size and weight), and can be selected during the checkout process. Orders whose total weight exceeds one pound (1 lb.) do not qualify for free shipping. The free shipping option includes a free bottle of SHIELDspray™ application solution for both domestic and international orders. |

Free shipping takes extra long, especially for me (I live in Hawaii so I guess that's why...) Took me about 4 weeks...other than that, I'm satisfied with my PSP protectors My order came w/ a squigy and some water solution to help put the protector on. The packaging is better than I expected, but I would think you get those regardless of free shipping or not?? |

Ah, good caveat...however, how exactly did you get the free shipping? Was not offered to me at all, no matter what I took out or put into my cart... satchi said:Free shipping takes extra long, especially for me (I live in Hawaii so I guess that's why...) I was seriously disappointed. Although it's tough, it was FAR from invisible. Glare was so bad that I couldn't use it in the sun at all. The plastic is... not sure how to describe it... tacky...? when you move the stylus across the plastic, there's too much friction, so it's hard to drag and drop (I can't imagine how it'd work on an iPhone).
Plus, the protector feels thin and cheap... it's very flimsy (I'm sure it's meant to be though), and left a lot of bubbles. They have detailed step-by-step application instructions, and a video on line, to install, and even comes with spray applicator solution
I definitly followed the instructions word for word, and wasn't happy.
However, it was extremely fast shipping (I was surprised), and the packaging was impressive for such a cheap item...
But, I mailed it back for a refund, as I was not satisfied... it's been a week, no credit to my credit card yet.
I highly recommend Boxwave Cleartouch Crystal. They are way more expensive ~$15 shipped, but are incredible. They are stiff plastic, apply easily, come off easy (when you want it off), is washable, reusable, etc. I bought one for my Zune and my Mogul, and both were fantastic, and shipped quickly.
you did it horribly wrong if you got bubbles. its really not that hard. watch this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7n0jQWCSfA of application. use the spray bottle and if you don't get it perfectly aligned on the first try peel it up, spray under it and reposition until you get it. then squeegee it within the first couple minutes to get rid of most of the liquid. don't worry too much about it being totally perfect, its gas permiable and small bubbles/water will disappear in a few days, it looks better after a few days of curing really. you don't have to wait that long before using it, but be careful on the first day. use enough of the fluid and theres really no way to get big bubbles, they leave as you squeegee the fluid out. i used a credit card.
if you lose the bottle, more fluid can be easily made, its just a drop of mild soap in a bowl or so of water..shake it up in a spray bottle, let it sit for 10 minutes for bubbles to leave, and use.
as for pdas yea maybe the stylus wont work as well i guess. but fingers work fine on it, a sharp plastic/metal tip probably wont slide as smoothly.
if you have fear of installing this simply watch the video i linked. it shows exactly how its done so you don't have to wonder if you are botching it.
if you just want a blank sheet to cut out your own screen protectors or whatever for watches etc you can go to bestskinsever. about 10bucks shipped for a 3.5x9" sheet. you will never be able to cut the perfect full body covers sold premade of course. but its good enough just to protect the ipod screen or whatever if the rest is covered by one of those silicon body protectors
other options for similar protectors are bodyguardz or bestskinsever they claim to be based on either helicopter blade protection or car paint protection for bumpers and such. probably all the same stuff really.
and it does work well around curves. the cutouts are made to work around curves. but its true that when its still really wet the curved bits take a while to set. if it doesn't stick right away, as long as its all aligned it doesn't matter, wait a few minutes for it to get a little tackier then press down for a bit, it should conform very well to the curved bit, just let it dry for a while.
covering buttons isn't really necessary to be honest on ipods. if placed correctly they do nothing to stop the click. but once its on its just really nice for once to not have to worry about your device being scratched, its next to impossible.
hugenut said:Burzhui said:awesome, i love this thing, got it for my htc mogul and for ipod touch. came in, in about a week. i would definitely recommend it
I put one on my Touch last night, and it looks horrific. I have used seidio's screen shield before, and you could not even tell it was on.
My touch looks like it's got dirty saran wrap on it. It was hard to put on, hard to squeegee the water out, and look terrible. Very disappointed.
Did anyone else have quality issues? Or is there some secret to putting it on that I am missing? My little included H2O bottle was missing, so I used tap water (the website said this was okay), but it just looks terrble, and the screen is blurred and has crud all in it. did you mix in a drop of baby shampoo or hand soap? it lowers the waters surface tension so it won't bead up as much. also use a mini spray bottle, about 50 cents or 1dollar from WalMart/target in the travel sanitary items area. let bubbles leave the solution for a few minutes after mixing, then spray the device and the shield. also you gotta make sure the device is clean in the first place of course. i just spray on some rubbing alcohol and wipe it off. and of course just remember it takes days to fully cure. small imperfections will fade and go away. |

Bought one for my macbook. Its a BIG difference putting a small piece on a phone compared to an 8x11 piece on an macbook. Instructions arent very good because you must spray WHILE you are peeling it off. You cannot pull the whole piece off before spraying, otherwise it sticks to itself and pretty soon you are cursing while its a mess. IN addition, they dont tell you NOT to put it on top of a newspaper or magazine. I did the top of my macbook, flipped it and put it on top of magazine to get it off the table while I putthe other side on. well, it STICKS to the magazine, the print transfers off, and the INK DOESNT come off! I tried water, then tried to rub it off, and guess what, it scratches easily! Ended up using alcohol, but the color absorbed. Its been on for a weekend, and so far, there are several scratches. This is not nearly as scratch resistant as they say. I will soon see how their lifetime warranty works! |

I leave my cell in my pocket with my keys and have yet to see anything appear. Someitmes I run my fingernails along the screen just cause I like the feel of the material. |

No, that is the strange thing. I got a magazine cover stuck to the material during install. I used a microfiber with some of the spray and tried to remove the magazine paper remnant by rubbing, then using my fingernail inside the microfiber. Imagine my surprise when that was sufficient to scratch the plastic!!! |

I find the invisiShield too expensive for my taste. Instead I just used a 3M transparency for my little notebook. And it works just fine...Haven't tried removing it; hopefully it doesn't stick to the screen. |

The 50% off deal is dead (link says sorry, deal is over). I did purchase a full body cover for my Blackberry 8830. It's very nice - the only second-thought I've had is whether I should have put it on the full body instead of just the screen. The phone out of the box has a nice feel to it - covering it up with the invisibleshield takes away that nice feel. Putting it on the screen is a no-brainer - it protects something that gets scratched otherwise. Full-body coverage probably is overkill... |

I have been using these skins for years and never had any problems. I have always just used a little soap in bowl of water for applications. I think they have a tutorial floating around... The steamy room idea is a good one for cutting down on floating particles, and don't worry too much about the water- I dip the skin in, shake it off a bit and just let it glide into place. You need to keep your fingertips wet the entire time as well.-also keep the credit card damp while pushing out bubbles. I was fearful of the soap/water on my first attempt, but soon grew frustrated and started using more of the mixture. Everything went much smoother. I never ruined anything. I have used these on mp3 players, phones, and other various laptop screens. Any way, I switched over to bestskinsever.com. It is the same stuff, and way better price. The only drawback, they do not seem to have the selection that InvisibleShield has.
By the way, the 1/2 off deal is still on as of (3-29-08),if you use the link from the second post(I think it was the second one...)

I sprayed my iPod Touch directly, even around the Home button, and it still works. As for it being too sticky, I disagree. It's not as smooth, but my finger glides across the screen just fine and it's a lot easier to keep it clean with the shield on than without it. |
