If you have the item numbe rfor the Cars fan I'd really appericate it if you would post it. I did find 2 Winnie the Pooh and 7 Spiderman fans in La Habra, CA.

The Cars fan is quite cute and I had bought one and installed it as my kids
are big fans of the movie and its characters. However, for the life of me I
couldn't balance the blades and the whole thing would vibrate and shudder at
the highest speed setting. It's made by some unknown company, not Hunter, or,
Harbor Breeze, which Lowe's typically sells. I eventually returned it and got
the baseball fan by Hunter. I will check out the Princess fan as I still need
one more fan for my kid's room. Thanks for the heads up, OP. Hope your experience
with the Cars fan turns out better than mine

How was the light on the cars fan?

Here are links at WalMart to see what the fans look like:

Princess: Link

Cars: Link

The one thing in both items' reviews is the lighting...in the Princess fan, the reviewer comments that the lighting uses the small bulbs and doesn't provide enough lighting. The Cars fan reviewer mentions that the bulbs are hard to find.

My concern with the Princess fan is that from the ceiling to the bottom of the light cover appears to be quite a length given that we have 8 1/2' ceilings. According to WalMart's description, this could be over 20".

I was able to find 1 at the Lowes in Irvine CA. They had 1 left, but it was the display model.

thanks. those are cute. the cars one looks pretty neat, the princess might look nice in our nursery since we're having a girl but I'm just worried since it looks a bit long, and our ceiling is not high... thanks anyways. we'll have to check out lowes

I bought one of the princess fans this past weekend and installed it in my two daughters' room. A couple of notes:

1) If you need a ceiling fan, $25 is great.
2) Installation is reasonably easy and solid.
3) This thing would look at home in double-wide, but my 5 & 3 year-old girls like it, so it stays for now.
4) The lights are the little socket lights, max 40 watts each. At first I tried CFL bulbs that were 40 watt equivalent, but even after waiting 30 minutes it was way too dim. I put in 60 watt bulbs and it was very bright, but it's not a good idea to exceed rated load on a $25 Chinese-made ceiling fan in my children's room, so I went to Home Depot and got some 40 watt incandescents and the brightness is okay. A little dimmer than I'd like, but you can definitely read by it.

By the way, if you're in the Atlanta area there were a stack of six or so at the Sandy Springs Lowes.

Thanks for your input Kevpriest! I gonna head out and buy one. Hopefully it's not sold out!

Can you look in the manual for me - and tell me if there is a switch to change the fan direction... I purchased one of these Cars Theme fan's about a year ago - don't have the manual anymore.....

I'd agree about the lights - it's pretty dim, and at high speed it does vibrate quite a bit....

Regards,
Jason.

There is a switch on the fan. It's about an inch above the blades. If you can't get up high enough to see it then just feel around for it. I also agree that it's dim so I'm hoping to find an energy saving bulb that puts out more light. The dan did vibrate once when I first turned it onto the high speed, but has been fine since then.
