A virtually identical deal was posted earlier here for Blinds.com expiring on 2/29. As you can see a lot of people got a great deal.

This new link expires on 3/18. This appears to be a different company, but this is the one I've used. Just use GET1FREE coupon code at checkout and pay $4.00 order processing charge + tax (TX residents) and fill out linked rebate form.

I did my whole condo with their custom wooden blinds last year and their quality is excellent.

Hope this helps out some FW pals.

For sure, this is a different company from Blinds.com?

The rebate form seems the same, even has the (including the use of cookies, IP addresses, zip code regression analysis, and
fuzzy logic customer account matching) comment. I know it's a different address, maybe the rebate was supposed to jokingly identical to the Blinds.com one.

I caught that and updated title and description. Likely a competitive ad. Again, I've done my whole condo in justblinds.com wooden blinds and they're great.

Awesome deal for me so long as having done it from Blinds.com doesn't disqualify me from this one.

rbraden said: Awesome deal for me so long as having done it from Blinds.com doesn't disqualify me from this one.

No mention of any previous purchase disqualification from any site other than justblinds.com in the fine print.

I just need 2 more rebate offers and I'll have the rest of my windows flush in blinds!

Thanks OP.

Blinds, NoBrainerBlinds and JustBlinds are all located in Houston, TX. I know the first 2 are connected somehow because an email I received from Blinds dot com contained a return address for NoBrainerBlinds.

Is there a way to find out if they are all the same company ?

You can check who owns the domains by using www.whois.org

For the Blinds.com domain I found:

Registrant:
Blinds Acquisition, LLC
Jay Steinfeld
4660 Beechnut, #218
Houston, TX 77096
US
jay@NoBrainerBlinds.com (notice the nobrainerblinds.com e-mail)
001-713-8380404 Fax: 000-000-0000000

Domain Name: Blinds.com

Double checked nobrainerblinds.com and found:

Registrant:
Blinds Acquisition, LLC
Jay Steinfeld
4660 Beechnut, #218
Houston, TX 77096
US
jay@NoBrainerBlinds.com
001-713-8380404 Fax: 000-000-0000000

For justblinds.com I found:

Administrative Contact , Technical Contact :
Swartz, Johann
postmaster@justblinds.com
10960 Millridge N. Dr. Ste. 204
Houston, TX 77070
US
Phone: 832-296-6128

Conclusion: Blinds.com and NoBrainerBlinds.com are one and the same; justblinds.com is most likely a separate company.

Now here is to hoping I can find the exact same blinds here as the almost free one I got at Blinds.com... Need 2 more of the same... (no, did not want to cheat and have my neighbors order one for me... I got scared of their negative regression break even scuffle analysis claims...)

Sweet! In for a second free blind. If they give me rebate problems I can drive over and yell at 'em, lol.

For vertical blinds for larger sliding glass doors, is this a good deal? I got in on regular faux wood blinds for a couple of rooms from the first Blinds.com deal and only paid $10 total in shipping. With the larger vertical blinds though, they normally start around $100 and the oversized shipping fee adds $70 more. With a limit of up to $50 off, is it really worth getting the larger blinds online? Or would I be better off just looking for them at my local Home Depot or Lowes?

The rebate redemption form from Justblids.com looks very similar (almost identical) to the form that was available from Blinds.com

Rebate forms ARE very similar, but rebate mailing addresses & phone numbers are different, so it's probably OK.

OP, do your wooden blinds close tightly, blocking out most sunlight? I'm having problems with my vinyl blinds that don't close all the way.

Thanks for the great deal!

I have ordered from a few different on-line companies and have always had a good experience. I just wanted to share a pricing comment ~

Coincidentally, I have been pricing some cellular shades for the past week, ordering color samples, etc. When I saw this post, I went to the JustBlinds site and was happy to see my cellular shades would qualify for the "free blinds" promo. But... THE PRICE WENT UP! Before the "free" promo, my shades would've have been $106.60 each. After the promo, they were $132 each. So do the math -

$106.60 x 2 = $213.20
$132.00 x 2 = $264 less $50 rebate = $214 = slightly more plus waiting for rebate!

For anyone interested, my best deal (for identical product, a no-name sold by many but mfd by a division of Hunter Douglas) has been Blinds.com which also has 3% FC. I've also had good experience with Yourblinds.com (no FC and no #bates) and BlindsChalet.com (of Phoenix) with 4% FC.

Hope this helps.

edit to fix math

Blinds are expensive, especially since we have a 72" by 60" bay window, but $50 off a nice horizontal solar shade might be just the thing. I am sick of handrolling the crappy roller shade we have inside the see-thru wooden roller!

Anyone have/seen this one (the link from above) in person and can comment?

jidteach said: Blinds are expensive, especially since we have a 72" by 60" bay window.

jidteach - would your window require 3 separate blinds? Are you trying for privacy, room darkening, light filtering or what?

We layered one single 72" x 60" inside-the-frame roller darkening shade (ugly as sin) with a 76"ish thin bamboo-like roller outside-the-frame.

Ideally we need privacy at night and UV shade (but see-through out?) in the day from ONE shade. I know, I know, I can't have it all, and this window (actually two aluminum horizontal slider windows stacked within the same frame, circa 1970's) is HUGE!

jidteach said: window (actually two aluminum horizontal slider windows stacked within the same frame, circa 1970's) is HUGE!
I am trying to picture this! Is this a 1970's version of dual pane windows??

So it is not really FAR as there is a shipping charge. Definately a good deal for just the shipping charge, but the title is slightly misleading and yes Im nitpicking, but you would be nitpicking about me nitpicking so ....yeahh.

sounds like I have the same one... each window in the house is either 47"x33" or 58"x33". Flipping nightmare - did the Blinds.com one and it worked out fine - will give this one a shot also

thanks OP

Yeah, kind of. They actually slide. The top "panes" are about 48" by 36" each; one window is fixed in place while the other slides horizontally in the aluminum frame. The lower "panes" are about 12" by 36" each. The whole thing has a frame around it (more like it is recessed .about six inches into the wall). It ain't pretty, but the view is spectaular.

I received my Blind.com order last night and did the re-install today. Their quality seems fine but definitely a notch below the Levelor they're replacing. Last year I installed some huge 1 in. mini aluminums for someone who I think ordered from justblinds and the headrails were mangled badly during shipping, some beyond salvage.
My needs are more reasonable so I'll order one with this new offer in a few days.

Are the below Woven wood shades free too after rebate ?

Woven Wood Shades
Economy Woven Wood
Exotic Woven Wood
Premium Woven Wood

Thanks. Ordered some color samples, hope I can get them before 3/18. Otherwise I'll just have to guess from the color on the monitor.

<- trying to match color with the free blind.com blind

dkong said: OP, do your wooden blinds close tightly, blocking out most sunlight? I'm having problems with my vinyl blinds that don't close all the way.

Thanks for the great deal!

Yes, they close rather tight. I have them on three walls of a sunroom that gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Closing the blinds tight keeps out 95% of the light and really helps insulate the room. These are the faux wood 2" blinds.

OP, did you do your home in the Express Faux Wood or the Faux Wood? The Express seems quite a bit less and I am just wondering how those would look.

Thanks for the good deal by the way!

I had a horrendous customer experience with Blinds.com and will never purchase from Global Custom Commerce again.

Same question for anyone who looked at both: Express Faux Wood or the Faux Wood? What was you result or final decision?

Thanks!

I did a live chat with CS to ask about the Blinds.com offer and the Just blinds offer. Her response was "Kelley: Hello, we are a different company - but I have seen the form used elsewhere on other blind sites, but if you are a first time customer to us, you are eligable, please download our form."

So, I think we a good to go on this offer.

Risk factors:
1. Rebate address is to some private office, not a rebate center. Blame the mailman for not delivering.
2. Offer good while supplies last and no substitution or rainchecks ... Whoops, allocated fund for rebates ran out.

Gave it a shot. I added the option to make it routeless because it was still under $50, hopefully that gets refunded too.

Thanks OP.

Is it "Jay Steinfeld" that you don't like?

Care to elaborate what went wrong with your experience?

Anyone know if shades qualify too, or is it just blinds? Their rebate disclaimers are longer than the rebate form itself...

Thanks!

Express has much less color choices, plus no wand for tilter, plus no options (Motorized Tilter
Remote Control
Split into 2 Blinds on 1 Headrail
Split into 3 Blinds on 1 Headrail
Routeless
Tile/Molding Cut Out)
I prefer routeless, Birch color(no holes, so my cat can't brake it, plus it looks better), so Express didn't work for me

ArmchairQB said: Is it "Jay Steinfeld" that you don't like?

Lots of things...

1) Lead time is inaccurate -- took longer that the maximum time I was originally quoted.
2) Orders placed with Google Checkout don't arrive(unless they have since fixed it). Orders stay 'in progress' forever.
3) No 'order shipped' notifications. No tracking #s. Limited order tracking capability on their site.
4) CSR promised to call back with a tracking #, but never did.
5) Poor instructions included with product.

After I got the order (blackout shades) and installed them, I found that they didn't fit correctly and let light come in around the perimeter. Turns out that their supplier takes your measurements and lops off 1/2" for the final size. In the case of blackout shades, this is obviously problematic.

I got a feel-good email from Jay (CEO) after my order was placed asking how satisfied I was. I wrote back with the info above. He responded and told me that my comments would help them improve, but offered no resolution. I emailed him back a time or two, but he never responded.

I finally raised the red flag with Discover card, who advised me to return the product. I printed out all my correspondence, as well as a copy of their satisfaction guarantee, and sent them all back to Jay's attention with my shades.

I then got an email from a CSR asking if I needed a repair. I advised him to check out all the included correspondence, where I asked for either a replacement set that fit, or a full refund. They gave the refund, but the whole ordeal took a couple of months and cost me return shipping.

My favorite thing about their site is this:

FAQ #4

Blinds.com FAQ said: Can I return the blinds I purchased?

Since all products are custom, made-to-order for each customer they cannot be returned except for warranty repairs. Orders cannot be cancelled or modified once production has begun. When you follow our instructions we guarantee your blinds will fit perfectly. We understand that mistakes may occur and if we make a mistake on your order we will either repair or remake it at no charge to you. If you make a mistake in measuring or ordering please contact us. Depending on the type of error, you may return the product to the factory for alteration or we will have it remade at a discount.

If you are not completely satisfied, contact our customer service department immediately and we will make every attempt to correct the problem. One way to prevent them from fudging with your numbers is to order the blind as an "outside mount" blind. For "inside mount" blinds, they take off a certain amount so that it can fit and operate inside the window. Also to account for out-of-square window casings. (Don't ask, you'd be surprised how many out of square windows, doors, walls, etc. there can be).

From my own experience, you can trim the 1/2" down quite a bit, if you are confident that your window casings are perfectly perpendicular. One of my cellular blinds rubs a bit, but it doesn't bother me. The others work great.

A big YMMV if you mess with the 1/2", and if you do, quadruple measure everything. Check for bowing and square corners and adjust accordingly. But you gotta subtract *something*. Zero is not going to work for an inside mount.

Thanks OP. I was planning on ordering a new blind for a large window in my house, so even though I didn't quite get it for free with this, it will still only be $29 after the MIR. Thanks!

Thanks OP!

Obviously we do not know for sure in this case (Blinds.com was legit with their rebate), but not all companies are out to rip customers off on rebates. Some actually want you to get your rebate so long as you do things correctly. Grocery/drug store rebates are typically like this. Many electronics/computer rebates do seem to try whatever is possible to avoid paying.

Yes. I got my 3 weeks ago and my wife love the blinds.
