In today's Dallas Morning News the Fry's ad has Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for only $39.99 the ad states that it will be available after 5:00 on Thursday 3-20. Pricematch 110% of the difference to Circuit City's $59.99 price in their ad to save even more, may be in other Fry's ads nationwide.

it MUST be a price mistake? if so - do other retailers PM and will Fry honor it? I seriously cant believe a huge title like this will be $20 off retail! green either way OP and nice find.
edit: doesnt the game release Tuesday? Why a 2 day wait?

I understand its nationally printed for $39 - but no new releases for the 360 go for that price, this game will be $59 at every other retail location. That's what I mean about the mistake. Kind of like the WalMart pre-orders they keep posting of 360 games for $39. You order them, then they take the link down and cancel everyone's orders.
So my question is, will they honor this price? If so, then I will wait until Thursday to get the game. If its likely they won't, then I will just pick it up Tuesday p.m. @ B Buy like I planned to do originally....

How about socal? Any socal Fry's honor the deal? How long does the deal last?
jtkgy said: How about socal? Any socal Fry's honor the deal? How long does the deal last? Wow you're lazy. Did you even try searching your local Fry's ad yourself?
By the way, for anyone in the SF Bay Area, the deal was listed in the SJ Mercury News ad too.

wait, 110% of the difference? So the difference is $20, so 110% is $22, so CC should have it for $18??? That can't be right

actually my math is correct, it just depends on where you subtract the difference from.
Thanks for the info though for whomever explained it

What's strange about that ad is the bottom of it states that prices are good through Tuesday, 3/18 but the RSLV2 says available Thursday 3/20???
Fry's website is like other websites like 10 plus years ago. Why don't they show their ads online like everyone else? BB & CC and most other businesses allow you to see their current ad. Not Fry's, it's 1990 and they're still using AOL dialup

Fry's had a deal like this when GRAW2 came out and I PM'd CC that very day. I'll definitely be hitting the stores for this one.

I have a bit of a problem with that too. Good luck PM'ing at C City, as I hear from a current employee they have been forcing employees to call the store in the ad and verify they have the item in stock at that exact moment. Not only that, but if they read the dates on this ad, they can very easily say 'take a hike' and you are out of luck since the game won't be available at C City until Wednesday. I will try my luck on site @ Fry's on Thursday I spoze.....
they will get 6 copies, and those will be sold out at 5 pm...This is what happened with Assassin's Creed.
I got BB to PM it, but it is YMMV - if they call Fry's and Fry's is OOS, you're screwed.

if only it were that easy
they don't offer rainchecks on these saying that it's a "one day" sale, and not a regular friday - tuesday sale...YMMV?

Today I avoided the Fry's OOS/Raincheck mess, and C City, B Buy PM mess using this method:

Today I avoided the Fry's OOS/Raincheck mess, and C City, B Buy PM mess using this method:
3. Take unpurchased paper back to video game section and have them PM the game.
4. Put the paper back where you got it and it's $43 OTD. You got lucky that they let you PM a deal that isn't available until tomorrow.
? I'm looking at the Wed Fry's ad... Rainbow LV2 $39.99 good til Thurs.

Worked like a charm at BB with Fry's PM. I had already put down the $5 pre-order and with $20 in rewardzone credit... cost me $14.99 out the door.
Thanks!

The ad says the game will be available by Thursday 5 pm.... the price is good for as long as the ad runs. Not to mention, the freaking chic at WalMart took less then 1 second to look at the picture of the game and price. She couldnt have cared any less about the ad dates...

The ad for my area says "Available tomorrow by 5pm" not "Available by tomorrow 5pm" which would mean two different things. Glad it worked for you.
Went to BBY in Surprise, AZ and got denied since that location is not within a 10 mile market to Frys. Went across the street and PM'd at WalMart with no problem.

Went to WalMart yesterday and they still had the Sunday ad with the Fry's ad in it....I took that to the register and they PM'd the price without even looking at the dates....they did call a CSM..
NO, i'm going to sell my Vegas 2 PS3 game. I have both an Xbox360 and PS3, the graphics on the 360 KILLS the PS3 by far (especially when you play co-op) on a 46" HDTV LCD screen, you will see the difference right away.
I'm getting rid of the PS3 game so I can get another copy for my Xbox.
