No but with the sander I've seen the prices all over the board - the lowest I saw was $34.65 |

I'm going to check the price at my local store, I'll post the price...looked like they only had one left. The price on the shelf was still $99.99, I'm hoping they just neglected to mark it down. |

Johns Creek, GA had both the drill press and the sander for 24.75. The key there is to look up in the racks. I left one sander there at the store and I purchased one drill press and one sander. I found both of these up in the racks and NOT in the power tool area as one would suspect. Good luck! |

Found the Drill Press, but when we looked the price up, it showed it at regular price of $99. Could that even be possible. |

Bmr4life said:So is all of SC/GA OOS or just that store? Just that store. I didn't check every store in both states. After checking 3 stores, I luckily finally snagged the last one in my area last night. Saw the disc/belt sander on clearance for $24.75 in 2 stores and $89.10 in the third store. Shows that Lowe's clearance prices are all over the map as always. Also see that the B&D cordless scissors I saw earlier got its own thread now. I may go back and get one after reading positive reviews. |

It will probably get me blacklisted one day but when deals like this occur I just buy the item. If it rings up 99.99 then I return it within a week, same day if it is cash. If it rings up at a lower FatWallet price, then I get it and that's that. Unless there's a price checker on the floor for customer's use (i.e. Target). I just don't trust the employees when it comes to great bargains like these tools. That's just my $0.02. |

The price can be looked up by the Lowe's code (much shorter than the upc code), and you will see the same thing on the screen they do. If you go to the register, ask them to do a price check. Why hassle with too many returns? Home Depot can deny you a return just because they feel like it (its in their policy now), and they do track people who make too many returns. |

Well, I must admit that I learned something today, thank you. I went to HD's website and I see what you mean, their return policy is terrible. I have never noticed the price checker in Lowes. I will have to look out for them from now on. |

I believe that fwmo88 was referring to the computer in the tools section (often at the desk where they make keys) where you can have an employee easily/quickly check the price for you. FYI - they can also from that screen check nearby stores for inventory (but apparently not price at other stores). I usually watch REALLY closely when they check the prices - watch in the middle of the screen - the computer may show several prices "stacked" - with the original price at the top and the clearance price at the bottom -something like this: 99.00 00.00 00.00 24.75 I have had well-meaning employees mistakenly report the item as full price and not realize a lower price is listed at the bottom. You will not run into this mistake if you have the item number checked at a register or the service desk, but they may have a harder time checking nearby stores. FYI - I just learned recently that you can do self-service price checks at HomeDepot if they have the self-checkout lanes. When you walk up, there will be a "price check" button on the screen - you can choose that and scan the item yourself. Quite handy. |

My apologies that I wasn't clear about the computer in the tools section. An employee needs to log in to check the price for you. And I didn't realize the prices were stacked.... Learned something new today! |

killerbeas said:I just picked on up from the Catonsville, MD Lowe's. They have 5 more. When I called to check stock they told me they were $49.95, but when I got the there the shelf said $24.75. They have 4 in high storage (After I was done.) in one of the aisles, and one on display, but it was missing the chuck. Hanover, PA had 2 for $89.10 Timonium, MD had 3 for $64.35 Westminster, MD had none in stock I tried to be discrete, and use the self checkout, but the attendant came over to help, and said, no way, that wasn't the price. She's probably going to buy one. Good luck KB Hanover, PA is now out of stock (as well as the surrounding stores in York, Chambersburg, and most of northern Baltimore) ..... |
