Way bummer. I went to the LEGO Store in Tysons, VA to try and save on shipping only to find out the sale is online only. Of course, I get home, and find out it's sold out. Just my luck.

The store lady told me "if they're having a sale I haven't heard of it, and they'll usually let us know."
Seems like the online store and the B&M stores are run separately, ala Wal-Mart.

I was just giving you a hard time... But my success story is this:
I went to a local Circuit City with a screenshot showing the 24.98 price when it was in-stock. I am "local" to a LEGO store [I PM'ed at a store in Waterford Lakes, FL- near Orlando- there is a LEGO Store in Downtown Disney]. Thankfully I schmoozed my way into the manager not checking the online price [now OOS AND 49.99!] by saying I called the local store today and they had it instock @ 24.98...
Thanks OP- saved on shipping and used a $24 CC GC that was burning a hole in my wallet.
People over at CAG said they had local LEGO stores match the online price, but obviously YMMV!
