They're made of silicone and guaranteed for 5 or 10 years. Typically ozone and uv degrade the rubber causing cracking and streaks, silicone is immune to this, so provided you don't have too much dust and dirt to physically grind the blades down, these should last a long time. So far(2 months) my flexblades are working fine.
Geoff I decided to try them on one of my cars in late fall, the other car I used Bosch Icons which were about the same price point. Six months later the Silbalde flexblades are still cleaning as streak free as they did when I first installed them. The Icons clean like crap and need to be replaced. Guess what brand I'll be buying in the future?
I did buy them direct from the Silblade, they were on sale and the price was close to their other on-line retailers - but I figured buying direct I should never have an issue w/the 5 yr warranty. |

The Anco CONTOUR look good. Just bought 2 sets today. $15 each after rebate on my Acura. Nice looking pair, just like the new ones coming out on the new car models. Nobody uses the old style wipers. They are mostly 1 piece wipers. I wonder if they can be refilled? |

I'm fine with the "old style" wipers, especially considering the price difference. I don't need to be trendy . Michelin Radius (same as the ANCO Contour) blades are OEM on the new Toyota Avalons and I don't see anything particularly special about them except the price. |

I think there is now evidence that these 1 piece designs work better than the traditional. Hence the shift. However, they are milking us on the selling price. If rebates are available, then take the opportunity to try them. You can always go back to the traditional ones, which can be renewed by refills. |

I don't think so. I don't refill my wiper blades because it's easier to just toss them out and get new ones @ $5 each. With the rebate, that price comes down to $2.50 each. I might try them if I can find them but I'm quite happy with the cheapo 31-series ANCO blades. |

Actually more so than price they wipe and clean better as well. I put 1 Rainx in my driver side and a regular one on the passenger side and after a while you can see the difference. It resulted in less streaks and hence reducing glare at night when there is no precipitation. I do agree that triple the price is a gimmick but heck everyone its own. I am not loosing sleep over it because I am getting somewhat of a deal with the B1G1 deals or whatever. Shahhere |

WalMart carries the 31 series @ $4.89 each. So, it will be BOGO after rebate! |

I bought a pair of 18" contour blades from WalMart but the package does not say "Contour" anywhere. The part number reads as follows: A-18-M. I cannot find any info based off the part number. I know the contour line has C-18-UB. What line does the pair from WalMart fall under and do they qualify for the rebate? |

USe Alcohol to clean your old rubbers, will take it to the distance, guaranteed. But when you have specials, go ahead and replace the wipers. |

MrV said:Guess it's a YMMV on experience with wipers. I tried ANCO about 6 months ago. They didn't stay on my car long before I replaced them with a pair of RainX (which I love). The Anco ones were terrible from day one and just got worse. Yah, I just bought some RainX for the first time when they were on sale from Menards about 10 months ago and they are still working great on the wife's Accord. The Trico refills that seem to be the only thing that fit my '90 Camry barely go a month and start streaking and Anco's only seemed to last a little bit longer, the cheap ones that is. |

Anco for $4.47 @ WalMart is a good set, even if you change every 6 months. It is just that the waste bothers me. Landfill! |

I agree about cheap blades. Have used them once and saw the reason why they are cheap. I am now paying for the $20 blades which made a big difference especially during the winter months cutting through icy chips and frozen snow. . I was able to get the Premium blades at the '3 boys' 2 weeks ago when it was buy 1 get one free. Same thing goes for Cheap tires but even more so. Just My opinion and if your 30,000k+ car is only worth $5 blades and $60 tires go for it. IMO. |

Was at AutoZone (Herkimer NY) and picked up two blades and found out they have a BOGO deal. Sweet! The ANCO blades were $6.99 for the 18" size. Looked at the Contour blades but balked at the $20.xx price tag until I can find evidence they are worth the extra $$$ |
