This has been going on for 3 days now. I spent over an hour talking to 3 different representatives. They finally said that they would refer it to their technical department. They said that I *should* be able to place an order within the next 3-5 business days
They had no idea why it was happening. I guess it has to do with the coupon. BTW, I was trying to order a Garmin Forerunner. Welcome to the club! I am still waiting for Amazon to fix this - its been almost two weeks now. Every time I call them, I am told that the technical ppl are working on it, and there is no eta on when it would be fixed. Love my forerunner 305, btw. Check out Zappos - they might even PM Amazon's after coupon price. |

I didnt want to wait for customer services made up ETA on fixing it so I just signed up with a new email address and was still able to use an Amazon card, get the $20 off and get a prime trial for free 2 day shipping. ankit said:EdenAurora said:I'm having the same problem. Thanks to all the great input on this thread. Used the $20/$200 for a second time. Stacked it with the $50 HD DVD promo code to make SD870IS $179.99 OTD. |

Since then (This was late last week), I am not able to place any order in Amazon. I select the shipping speed and click continue and I get error. I have contacted Amazon several times and they have not been very help so far.

Can't apply $20 the second time: Important Message We're sorry, but the promotional code you entered cannot be applied to this purchase. Please refer to your promotional coupon for information about item or store restrictions. I even tried another account (same Amazon Visa credit card) and that failed too. |

Just used the $20 code on two digital photo frames. Code would not work at first, so I tried it again at the last checkout page and it worked. Apparently you need to enter the code at the end and change your card to Amazon Visa. |

if you have any problems with your high dollar order just call them. they gave me $20 refund on my credit card (already showing) for my Amazon Kindle. with very little resistance other than wanting to know the details. but you know Amazon has tiered refunds/credits for every sale based on (you, your purhcase).
they usually start at $5 up to $10 on small issues.
$10-20 and up on bigger sales. Probably some magic secret but the NON-AMERICAN speaking folks seem to be well quite a bit easier to deal with. the kindle customer care (couple of dudes in a room in lab 126) told me to go call chase (Amazon visa) at which time i was about to tell him where to stick his kindle and the chase card since thats not the tone you take with someone who has spent so much money to pay for his salary. |

I tried and apply this to a nuvi 750 and got Important Message We're sorry, but the promotional code you entered cannot be applied to this purchase. Please refer to your promotional coupon for information about item or store restrictions. It was directly from Amazon.com so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Anyone else got this message. Oh, I did try it on other electronics as a test (ipod, tv) but all of them give me the same message. I'm using a Chase Amazon Visa Card. |

While I appreciate the factual info from rigor, what's up with the totally gratuitous slam against "NON-AMERICAN speaking folks"? WTF? What's speaking "American" anyway? Is that a joke or is that just a comment from someone who's unaware that we speak English in this country? I've dealt with plenty of completely incompetent CSR reps who were definitely based here in the continental United States! As someone who's worked in Europe and Asia, and been pretty impressed by the level of education, overall customer service, etc., I'm pretty amused (and frankly, a bit indignant) about this whole trend of ranting on FW about overseas CSR/call centers. If you haven't noticed, the people based in the US who answer these calls aren't typically rocket scientists... The fact is it's just usually crappy customer service that's the issue b/c companies, including AMZN, are trying to drive costs down by hiring low-skilled people to handle these calls, and that's the problem -- not where the actual CSR person is located or whether they speak English...uh, I mean "AMERICAN." |

1. Put items totalling $200 or more in cart. 2. Get to last step of checkout and enter code. 3. Look if discount appears on right side.
Works with the Microsoft 8000 keyboard ($239.98 - $20 = $219.98 + free shipping) Doesn't work on PS3. Just tried it myself with my Amazon CC. |
