I heard this from a friend of a friend on SD bluprnt1,
There's a promotion targeting Blackberry Developers, so I think you need the correct code. Here's what you can get:
BB 8100 (PEARL) = FREE after rebate BB 8700 = FREE after rebate BB 8320 (CURVE) = $49 after rebate BB 8800 = $99 BB 8820 = $199
You have to call T-Mobile's Business Direct number and mention either the "campaign name'"or the "promo code" below:
Business Direct: 1-866-464-8662 (option 3) Campaign Name: RIM Blackberry Offer Promo Code: 7490TMOFAV
I believe you can choose either 1 or 2 year term. They waive the activation fee and also ship the BB to you for free. Not sure how long the promo runs but she said that it should be good at least through the end of June.
> if u buy from Amazon u have to buy bb data plan + 2 yr contract + activation fee.
Yes, but the BlackBerry 8100 Sapphire from Tmo at Amazon is $-99.99 shipped after rebates and that could make up for the activation and contract for some people.

Sounds tempting. Anyone verified whether these prices are also valid for 1-year contracts as well? From my Tmo experience in the past, if you sign a one-year, the prices are increased accordingly.

I wonder if I could get rid of the data plan after a month or so and pay for voice only. I could upgrade my wife's out of contract phone and just move the SIMs if that would work.
ugh, I wish these deals worked for upgrades. Great prices, esp. for Curve!

The new Pearl 8120 comes out on the 14th. That would be a good phone to get if they offer it.

would the discount only apply to individual plans (since this is a business discount)? has anybody tried to pull off multiple discounts with a family plan? heh, seems a little far fetched, but thought i'd ask anyway.
I got my BB Pearl from Costco for free with instant rebate (and make $50 after rebate)... and 1000 minutes for $39.95 (plus $10 email, 5 text) about a month ago.
But the same deal could be had from stores in Chinatown... where they even throw in a Bluetooth headset!
Not even Costco can be the aggressive retailers in Chinatown... ANY Chinatown in general (that's what I came to understand anyway)!

I believe data plan is $9.99/month for BB Email Only. You have to get this plan for the rebate to qualify. Am I right?
jay22 said: scoobydooby said: SWEET! $99 for the 8800, eligible for the $29.99 plan.
No activation, free expedited shipping.
THANKS OP!
Did you go with any data plan? or can we get the phone without any data plan?, Thanks
I added the $20 Blackberry data plan, but the rep said his system did not have ANY requirements for the purchase of the promo. I could get the cheapest voice plan, and no data plan if I wanted.

if you are planning on getting the rebate than you must sign up for a data plan of $9.99 or higher
if you do not care for the $50 rebate go with whatever they offer

i finally figured out what MSISDN Reuse means in terms of how it work (well at least how it works to the rep i talked to). She said it cancels your current line and puts the phone number back in to the pool of recycled numbers. Then you are essentially requesting that your new number be changed and you would like to select a number. the number you select is your old one (obviously). she said theres like a 5% chance you might not get it back, but in my area they have numbers sitting around from early March so its not too bad. Everyone that has done the MSISDN reuse has gotten their number back so its pretty safe to do.

I'm under the 1000 minute family plan right now. What would I have to do right now to get in on this deal? Like detailed costs for everything if I wanted the BB Curve.
Seems like it's BB 8320 (CURVE) = $49 after rebate, and then what are the other charges?

AFAIK, TZone goes through T-Mobile network, where as the BB dataplan goes through blackberry.com, I don't think the hack works in BB, only in Windows Mobile devices (MDA, Wing, dash, etc.,)
kuppusamy said: AFAIK, TZone goes through T-Mobile network, where as the BB dataplan goes through blackberry.com, I don't think the hack works in BB, only in Windows Mobile devices. It seems as though BB has loosened their restrictions because when ordering from T-Mobile you can select from other data options including Total Internet ($19.99) or Unlimited E-mail ($9.99). You have to go through the ordering process to see the other choices and when you do that, no $5.99 plan shows up, so you probably have to call up to add that one.

Pearl 8120 is $149 AR. At this price, you might as well just upgrade your phone and save yourself the phone number port hassle. I just called this morning to order the 8320.

CSR told me could not do it with an exisiting OOC line.
Is there some special phrasing I should use here....?
I did the Dash deal last year, but that was easy because I actually NEEDED another line. Don't want to do that again.
Just called and added a line to my family plan. everything is great. It did require a data plan for the rebate (minimum $9.99 unlimited email). Thanks OP. green for you.

Can anyone give detailed step by step instructions on how to get your internet working on the blackberry without the BIS data plan.
There have been many reports of the $5.99 not working because of the BB specific servers and what not.
Can anyone also explain their detailed OPERA Settings on T-Mobile that works on the Pearl, to use any other internet plan other than Blackberry Internet.
Thanks..

I just called in today to see if they had anything exciting, new promotions going on.
The BB 8320 and BB 8520 are both free. The BB 8900 is $50.00. A BB data plan ($25.00 per month) is required.
I don't think the deals are anything exciting, especially, in view of the ongoing promotions at WalMart and Amazon.
