I just really noticed the wording in the offer and it says "Get the $30 prepaid subscription card at no cost WHEN YOU PAY FOR SHIPPING AND HANDLING. I wonder if they will refuse to give us the $30 card based on this? Oh well, thanks OP for the info. Maybe I will order another one and pay shipping just for the heck of it. Knowing Sirius and their billing system/customer service, it won't be a problem. Thanks again. |

So if you pay the $.01, there are no more fees if one cancels? I just don't want to be trapped into a subscription. I have had only minimal experience with satellite radio, but still wondering why anyone would pay for this service. I am willing to check it out further if I can get it basically for free...

I've had XM for 2 years. Once you have sattellite radio you can't go back to radio radio. You do realize that about 50% of regular radio is ads right? I don't need people selling me stuff whenever I listen to the radio. It is much better, the price you pay will be miniscule compared to what you pay when you hear ads all day and go out and buy what you hear in the ads. |

For music, Satellite is a big "ehhh". The quality of the sound is SO compressed that it's not that great to listen to, and an iPOD is a better choice. However, for the news, sports, and talk radio (stern/bubba/etc) there is NOTHING like it, and the monthly fee is well worth the price of admission. The music and no commercials on the music channels (talk/sports/news still have them in limited form) is the bonus. XM sound is a little more "alive" (Sirius is WAY flat due to seriously agressive compression), but Sirius has much better selection of programming. |

Your ipod is just as compressed! And as for the compression, Sirius does give higher priority to more popular stations, so while the Big 80's sounds generally like crap, Octane still sounds great. Neither can match the dynamic range of a CD however... |

I have XM (well, now both after this deal ), I used to be in the 'why would you pay for this' boat, but it's worth it for me just for the MLB. Then, throw in the comedy/entertainment channels in addition to the music, and the fact you can get a good deal with customer service (I'm on $4/month for the MLB season w/ XM for now) and it's great. |
