Wow! I can't see how SIRIUS Satellite Radio is allowing this deal to go on. Some one on eBay is selling a lot of ten of these radios with the ten gift cards. People are admitting to ordering these by the several DOZEN {somebody on SD bought 130!!). UPDATE: Deal is now dead. It seems like they finally caught it. |

My complaint was the 2 1/2 hours of torture over 2 days by an hard to understand overseas call center to get it activated. To me that was just not worth it, my time is more valuable. |

UPDATE: Deal is now dead. It seems like they finally caught it. But isn't there a $70 fee if it is not activated within a certain amount of time? Are they counting on everyone who buys them actually activating them? |

Your time is more valuable but you got on this deal? The wait is long because of the deal abusers selling these on eBay. There call centers are jammed with callers. Activation can be done on there web site. The companies are doing these things less and less, because of the abuse. St$$ples, C*S, etc are changing things. |

I have to say it's a good thing I did this deal and didn't pay for my receiver. I probably won't be sticking with Sirius unless there's some really good programming on. The sound quality is horrible! Sirius claims their sound is CD quality. I have my receiver directly connected in my car through the aux input. That is what they claim the best sound quality will be...and it sounds really compressed. I would say something like 64kb-128kb MP3s. This is not even FM quality, much less CD quality. Also the online streaming is only 32kb and they want you to pay $1.99 extra a month to increase it to 128kb. They claim 128kb to be CD quality. UH, NO. This is FALSE. I'm so sick of places claiming this. The quality should be at least 192kb for the $12.95 monthly subscription. I was expecting at least CD quality sound. It's not even close. |

Hi, buddies. Online activation is better than phone activation. Reasons: 1. I called. CSR said they would not waive the activation fee for me. & I prefer online activation. 2. It's hard to understand CSR's English. I mean accent. Oversea call centre? So, will you activate the devide online or by phone? |

For myself, it was a 2nd unit, so to avoid hassles & to save time, I went online, added the giftcard to my account, then activated online with the quarterly plan at $7/mo. & paid the $6 balance. |

I was expecting at least CD quality sound. It's not even close. I agree that the sound quality leaves much to be desired. The reason is the limited bandwidth the FCC assigned to them, and all the channels they must have to attract customers. I'm hoping that with the XM/Sirius merger that they can bump up the sound quality to the 192kbps that it should be. |

I didn't notice anything to help out the FM transmitter, but I can attest to it's complete uselessness. |

They could simply fix this by making channel packages available. I won't be listening to a lot of the channels there. COUNTRY. blearg. LOL. |

Well for years when you had to add a CD Changer to your car you plugged in a FM antenna boster / extension / whatchamacallit to the antenna wire that ran to the back of your radio and it worked fine ... what is this bull$hit antenna on your windshield trying to broadcast top you radio about? Ignorance lazy or corporate greed? as stated above now "Stratus 4 + Vehicle Kit with $30 Subscription Gift Card You Pay: $79.99" |

So , I suppose if someone was still after this deal, they could argue the point with a csr that the offer is still advertised as available on their site. |

Remember the golden rule... Be nice to the CSR. They have to deal with CRAP all day, and a kind voice goes a long way. Cathy... Good ol' US gal with no accent... Waived activation almost before I finished asking... I asked for match to XM $77/yr and she said she is not authorized, but offered 1st month at $6.95 I asked if any good deals on longer (but shorter than 1/2/3yr specials) and got 1st quarter (3 mos) for $20.95 with free activation... So I have the equipment, 3 months service and +/- $7 dollars credit left on my gift card with free internet Sirius access included. Always wanted to try satellite radio... this was the PERFECT deal for me... thanks OP. |

Always wanted to try satellite radio... this was the PERFECT deal for me... thanks OP. Consider yourself lucky. I was as sweet as I could be to my CSR (who sounded like Yul Brenner). When I asked about waiving activation he said, "The company feels very strongly about this." I waited a moment, because I wasn't sure what they felt strongly about. So, I rephrased my question. He was getting a little impatient, I think. I said, "So, is there any way to get free activation from you just to help me out today? I just want to try out the service." He said, "Absolutely." My heart skipped a beat. "The company feels very strongly about this matter," he repeated. "You can try the service and then cancel it if you don't like it. That's what today's charges cover." So, no dice on the free activation. Maybe it helps to get an American on the phone? I had to hold for quite a while and didn't feel like hanging up and trying again. Also, I have to agree with those who say the music sounds bad. My wife didn't notice, so maybe it's in the ear of the beholder. |

If you have AAA, actvation is free, as well as an additional month of service. You should be able to do it online through AAA. |
