I tried activating online through the AAA link and was unsuccessful. When I got to the payment screen there was a $15 charge for activation and nothing stated about an extra month. |

If you go through FW, how the hell do you find it???
I had to go through this same issue on the last Sirius deal a couple of weeks ago (Sirius InV). Click through the link within this thread and add the item to your cart. Then go link through the FatCash link to Sirius (in a separate window) and go to your cart and you should see the item then. If it shows up full price, take it out of your cart in the FatCash link. Then go back into the link in this thread and readd it to your cart. It should now reshow as $0.00 in your cart in the FatCash link. Then proceed to checkout applying the $0.01 shipping code. The total will be $0.01 and wait for your $10 FatCash to apply to your account. Since it's a tiered system, we still should receive the $10 per radio.
Worked like a charm on the InV radio, although that one actually cost a little bit of money. However, by the time you received all the gift cards, FatCash, and sold the radios, you actually came out ahead. I just noticed this posting, and wanted to give a warning. http://www.fatwallet.com/support/faqs.php#faq13 The NFL offer isn't one offered by FatWallet, and isn't accessible by using the FatWallet Cash Back link. Anytime you play shopping cart games, by accessing a merchant through a special offer link that FatWallet doesn't have, then add it to your shopping cart, and come back through FatWallet doesn't mean your guaranteed Cash Back. I'm not saying it won't work, but Sirus might not pay us Cash Back for the sale, it is possible they would credit the original offer with the commission. If this happens then there isn't any Cash Back to share with you. |

Did the remote come with this package. It looked like the box had been opened and the little tape tabs were replaced where the boxtop opens. This must have been a return. I just wanted to make sure the remote was included. How could it not be? I am pizzled! |

But, no, I didn't get a remote, and I don't think it was supposed to include one. Looks like they're pretty cheap on fleabay, though. |

Check your online billing after you switch your radios though, they charged me a $15 "Transfer Fee" plus sales tax. I called them about it and they gave me a credit, but be sure to check this online in your billing history.

Got in on the radio with shipping for $.01. I called the AAA activations phone number at 888-274-7487 and mentioned that a "friend of mine" was able to activate for 3 months with no activation fee for a total of $20.97. I didn't mention anything about being a AAA member. She wasn't able to find any deal and I finally said to just process it at the normal monthly fee for 3 months with one free month comped and no activation. The total would have been $38.85. She put me on hold to process the order. When she came back she said she found the first deal while trying to apply comps. So she gave it to me at $20.97 for 3 months with free activation. Very YMMV, hope my story helps someone. |

Buddies, I have to say the Sirius' satellite signal is too bad... I am using a home antenna... Every several seconds, shows " Acquiring signal ". It seems like the signal is better in the evening than in the daytime. I have tried to adjust the direction of home antenna many many times. How about you? |

How about you? You need a wide view of the sky. Unlike the XM Radio satellites, the Sirius satellites are not in a geostationary orbit. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirius_Satellite_Radio |

Anyone geek enough to know the frequencies these signals come in at? I'm wondering if there's any way to multiplex it in with a sat or OTA antenna line in the house in the attic. If the antenna needs to be ground level near the receiver I'm thinking it will not work well for me being surrounded on 3 sides by 50' pine trees. And any other cool deals now? I've got a receiver I picked up somewhere on clearance to play with, but haven't signed up yet. Got an XM one too, not sure which way to go. I had thought Sirus was doing NHL stuff, but the wikipedia says NHL is XM only these days.... |

The button switches are not the solder on kind I hoped they would be. The are just a disk of metal taped on to the circuit board.
There is a receiver for the remote control and the bezel for it is a cool violet/purple color instead of red like I have seen in TV's and other devices.
There are two places where connectors might be soldered on for programming or something.
JP1 has 6 pins labeled RESET, SCLK, (two pins, one or both marked +), MISO, MOSI. Looks like an SPI Connector.
JP2 has 4 pins labeled TX, (two pins, one or both marked +), RX. It also has two larger solder areas on both sides of the pins labeled GND. There is an arrow coming off of pin 1 (TX) that points to the text "3V3_MAIN".
There are 5 test points in the top middle of the board marked 3V#_BB, TDI, TMS, TCK, TDO U1 is an Atmel Mega32L
U4 is marked 8727GED 77ARR6X
U5 is marked 1010 A269 731
U6 is an RT9167A low dropout and low noise micropower regulator
U13 is an STA240AE Channel & Source Decoder
U14 is a Spansion AL016D70BF102 which may be in the S71AL016D family
U15 is marked 0732PPR V54C3128804VBJ7IPC
U16 is an Atmel AT8UA1068. It has the Sirius dog logo so it is probably a custom chip.
U23 is an STA210 RF Front-End
The LCD is a Varitronix COG-IZT2202-01. COG means "chip on glass". It has a 20 pin connector. The first line has smaller pixels than the last two lines. Each of the three lines are made of 16 5x7 pixel characters.
In addition to the LEDs in the LCD display, there are ten amber surface mount LEDs to light the buttons.
I sure hope the audio quality on the pay channels is LOTS better than the quality of channel 184 as it is FAR from hi fidelity sound.
Did Riley tell you how to board the Biaviian mothership too?
he has to buy a symbol first. hope you all listened to my show last night on your free radios robertsotx, did you see any way to adjust the useless weak fm transmitter's power or maybe stick a better antenna in it?FM has become very usefull to me. My sirius has some high pitch noise at the AUX, which doesn't show up at FM.
Get this The FIX it should do the trick. There is also a Crutchfield, free shipping, Visa card code floating around here somewhere. While your fix might be an easy solution, it is not the best one. As the noise is coming from the cheaply designed lighter power adapter, your fix won't just reduce the noice but also discount already compressed audio. The better approach would be using a regular wall power supply with a 12 - 220V car converter. This combination provides cristal clear sound on any level of volume. |
