The link on the Staples website for the ViewSonic rebate expires March 1st, of 2008. To get the right ViewSonic rebate, click on the link dedicated to it.

Great deal for an entry level system, I had this projector before, and it's great! Thanks OP

Egyptianeer said:The link mentioned for the ViewSonic rebate expeirs March 1st, of 2008. I think that means the deal is not 300+tax, but rather 400+tax. Not very bad though for an entry level system. I had this projector before, and it's great!

There is one with an updated date above it.

Just did this with a pricematch.

http://biz.PCConnection.com/IPA/Shop/Product/Detail.htm?sku=7452077

brought it down to $479 + tx - $100 - $100 = about $300. Score thanks OP

What about using the $50 off $500 coupon on this deal? That would be pretty sweet.

I tried the coupon from their site and it tells me that it's expired, what the heck?

How'd you get the pricematch? I thought Staples didn't do online or maybe I'm thinking of somewhere else. Did you call or do Chat?

I think its a great deal, Ive never had a projector, and this seems cheap, and if I dont like it, I can probably throw it on eBay to recoup my costs. Anybody have these, are they good for video games and movies. It says the lamp lasts over 2000 hours, and replacement lamps run about $200.00 any idea if this is a good deal?

alert mods

For a DLP and specs. YES its a good deal. It basically the price of buying a replacement bulb.

Not the best but ok if you want to throw vid on the wall and games.

Note the throw distance. you have to be far back enough to get a big throw with this one.

Reviews were good on this one too. FOr $270 w/ taxes not bad...

If you are a newbie... this would be fun to play around w/ until you are ready for the better ones.

What are the chances that the Staples rebate or the Viewsonic rebate will get rejected because you're double-dipping? After all, that happened with some HP printer rebates. And it kinda happened with the Costco deal, even though that used a Costco coupon, in conjunction with a Viewsonic rebate.

One is a MFG rebate the other is a Staples easy rebate. I highly doubt the talk with each other.

Yeah its fine. Just make sure you print out the rebate now. Just in case Viewsonic changes terms midway... which is unethical... but at least you got it printed out.

If you read the old post from the Costco deal at $299.99, you'll notice that people had to fight for their rebates and they were all denied at first. Viewsonic relented, due to BBB pressure and people got their rebates. IT turns out they didnt know Costco was offering an instant discount, so they changed their website form to exclude Costco, but the rebate was on several other sites without the Costco exclusion. Viewsonic rejected all costco rebates, but I guess they okd those orders made prior to their correction. I'm going to pass, but it both rebates go through, its a good deal.
