Here the sandwich alone costs less than a large soda. Some McDs also have it on the dollar menu.
This is not a good deal
*****SORRY GUYS****** I was confused, this is a lunch sandwich, not the breakfast sandwich I was thinking. It doesn't sound too bad except for the 'buttery-tasting' bun. What kind of artificial ingredients are in that butter flavor? Why not just call it a butter bun?
It's $2.99 here in Albuquerque. I've tried it and I can't it's great, but for the price of a medium drink I would buy it.
Nice I will have to remember that on may 15, I love those sandwiches...
The whole argument about whether the chicken or the egg came first is pointless. Neither came first. Cockroaches were roaming the earth long before there were chickens. So the question should be whether the roach or the roach egg came first. McDonald's should correct their advertising campaign or people might stop buying their sandwiches.
But I'll put in my Outlook calendar a reminder about May 15th, for the free chicken sandwiches.
Thanks OP!

Sick, but hilarious.

This a new sandwich that sells for $2.59 - $2.99.
They have a special deal in the Chicago area today where you buy a $1 sweet tea and get the New Chicken sandwich for free.
I tried it and surprisingly, it was excellent.
The free chicken biscuit they were giving away during the morning, was only about half the size.
If the Chicken sandwich is bigger then in the evening on May.14 I gotta go out and get really drunk and wake up late and hung over on MAy.15 crawl over to McDonalds order a few sodas down some aspirins and eat those big free Chicken Sandwiches as a late breakfast and hopefully the great taste, aspirins and sodas will all taste like heaven

Of course we all know the answer to this bigger question: Which came first to McDonalds, chicken or roaches?

McDonalds has been selling a breakfast southern style chicken biscuit here for the past year. It's great when cooked correctly, but last time I ordered it it was fried too long and dried out.
At most locations the sandwich is $2.79. Some places have it for $1.00, or at least did last summer. I still don't think it's a good value to spend $2.29 on a large soda to get a sandwich, but hey if that's what floats your boat.
We just got the Southern Chicken Sandwich here in Los Angeles. I tried it today and it is strikingly similar to a Chick-Fil-A sandwich. Bun, chicken breast, 2 pickles, no sauce or ketchup... hmmmmmm... It is pretty good though...
It doesn't have to be a large soda. The site specifies a Medium OR Large soda. What size you want is up to you. I'm guessing a medium is about $1.50 so for a medium drink and a new sandwich, that's not a bad deal, in my opinion. Plus, some people may be going and getting a medium/large drink anyway, so to them the sandwich is free! To each their own ![]()

Looks like a competitor to Chick-Fil-a. Only they use 2 pickles...but looks good.
Now only if they have waffle fries.
Don't get one expecting Chick-fil-a. You will be disappointed. I think their $1 spicy chicken tastes better. This on has no flavor.
Actually this is going on today in my county and some others. It is also going to be on 5/7/08. I have a flyer that say it is good for these counties in Florida:Citrus, DeSoto, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Manatee, and Sarasota counties. The dates are listed as 4/23/08, 4/30/08, and 5/7/08.
I believe it is going on all over Florida today.

Saw the ad at McD and also heard the commercial on the radio last weekend when I was in Tampa that it was going to be today. Apparently it is NOT statewide as I just paid $1.99 for the chicken biscuit this morning in Miami.
