According to Hauppauge website, supposed to support QAM

If you have at least one unused email for GCO, you get $10 off with GCO which makes it $53.99 after MIR

There are new $25 off $75 coupons going out, I just got a $25 off $75 coupon in my email. If you have a $25 off $75 coupon, it makes it $38.99 after MIR

The Hauppauge website shows all 1178s supporting QAM, it doesn't sort them out anymore, so I bet all the new 1178s support it. Doesn't matter here, almost all PBS, oh boy...

????? I generally don't watch too much PBS. What's Carrier about?

Only certain product codes support QAM

I purchased this card a while ago from CC and got product code 74021, but according the the company FAQ, not all cards support cable searching.

Also, ATSC doesn't work with Linux yet.

Was this in the weekly sale email, or some other offer?

I just ordered the card myself. The discount is the famous Buy.com $25 off $75 that some people have been getting. I finally got one. Alternatively you could sign up an email account and get $10 off. Register all your emails with Buy.com and you may get multiple $25 off $75, a lot of people have. Maybe I set this up wrong, it seems like the best price for a few months IMO.

Cool, thanks! I dumped PBS when I dumped NPR, but recently I watched some stuff on PBS and it was pretty good. NPR is SO political but PBS seems less so, I know they have some but NPR is pretty much progressive radio, at least it was when I stopped listening. PBS seems to have tried to cover a wider range. I even saw a show with Alan Alda and he didn't act political at all on that show. I'll try again, especially if it is in HD.

Thanks, our rating system is broken. Look at the 1250 for $39 going very green 3 days before this one. The HVR 1600 is better than the 1250 in a couple of ways, hardware encoding on the analog side, PCI and it is more expensive but with GCO, this deal could even be less expensive.

Last I read, there were experimental drivers for linux. I've since started using GBPVR (WinXP) for the clear QAM.

It ain't just the FatWallet rating system that's broken. Look at what we've had for POTUS the past few years ...
