I found this T-Mobile discount for Avon Sales Representatives Friends and Family in my Monthly newletter from Avon. It is really a great deal.

Here are the highlighted promotions:

12% Monthly Service Discount
Waived Activation Fee
FREE 2 Day shipping
1 year contract on most plans

Phone Specials
FREE Sidekick Slide
FREE Dash
FREE Blackberry Pearl
$49.99 Shadow
$49.99 Sidekick LX
Plus a FREE accessory of your choice of $50.00 or lesser value.

You just have to call 866-464-8662, choose option 3 and as for the Avon Sales Representative Friends and Family promotion. The code is 5871TMOFAV.

Disclaimer requires that this requires new line activation and equipment pricing is after a mail-in rebate ($50.00). Existing customers cannot get this offer to replace their current phone. You however can add a new line of service to your account and qualify.

I got 2 phones - a sidekick and a pearl.

Why are people giving this red? At least give a reason why it is not a hot deal. Especially since T-Mobile discounts are so hard to get or find makes this a good deal to me.

This is great! It is harder and harder to get one year contract and activation fee waived now.

Do you know if I add one line to the existing family plan using this promotion, can I get entire bill 12% off or just the new line part?

can any1 confirm this?

Could be the vague title.

can someone else confirm this?

OP What Plan did you get and what is the total monthly cost?

They will NOT do this. Promotion applies to new lines with new numbers only.

For some phones adding the $9.99/mo for one year might still work out to be a better price than buying a new phone (e.g., LX for $170 (50+120)) is much cheaper than even the retention discount at present...

4. Tell them you want to "MSISDN REUSE" (pronounced 'mizzdin') your old OOC number to the new number (MSISDN = Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number)
They will understand what you want when you tell them about "MSISDN REUSE"
Your old number will be disconnected immediatley (Cancel the line), they will do it.

Can you get the 12% monthly discount for an existing account?

See OPs Post

Just called earlier and stated my friend works in Avon, but the rep won't let me go through. he said it is only for the Avon representative, not F&F. I will try another rep later though.

anyone get this deal with no problem?

Thx.

wonder if it's 12% of your existing acct bill or just the new phone service...

I just got a new line added to my existing account. Got BB pearl for $49.99 after $50 MIR, no activation and also got bluetooth headset free. Though the contract term got extended for both the phone line.i.e. 1 year from today, looks like this a the good deal. Thanks OP for posting. Green for you

I just got the Dash with 2 gig memory card. I chose individual basic plan and 400 text msgs for $4.99. The CSR offered me 1000 minutes with unlimited nights and weekends for another $10 but I declined. Thanks for the great deal OP.

Do you need a data or BB plan to get the rebate?

Those that signed up, did you get 1 year contract?

You can call the 18664648662 number and tell them you work for Shell and get free pearl. I think the promo code is 782TMOFAV. In april Curve was $29.99 no mail in rebate required. You might be able to still get it.

You mean they have a basic plan that costs only $5/month? And the ba1-yr basic plan qualifies for a free new phone? if yes, what does the basic plan include? And the per minute cost?

TIA

What I meant was I got the individual basic plan for which goes for $29.99 normally. It includes 300 whenever minutes and unlimited weekends. This plan qualifies for a new phone under a 1 year agreement. All the info the OP provided was true and check the T-Mobile website for more information regarding different plans.

Thank you ET!!!

I got both those same models as well. I would like to add some further tips / tricks and the latest clarification and/or t-mob handling of this offer:

Firstly-- the entire order / phone conversation will be recorded!!!

1. ONLY an actual Avon employee is entitled to 'everything in the offer'-- especially the monthly discount. This was confirmed by the rep asking a supervisor...not sure what if anything else a non-employee does not receive, as i ended the call then and there.
BTW no proof of employment is requested.
2. Must get a minimum $9.95 data plan to qualify for rebate(which of course, can be dropped after cashing check)...so t-zones addon alone does not qualify.

3. For those currently not on a qualifying postpaid plan... say FlexPay...there is a workaround--assuming someone else with sufficient credit is available to sign up:
A. Continue with present plan, someone else with credit signs up for a family plan...btw even a full-time student(ergo w/ no job) would qualify assuming any established non-derogatory credit.
B. Pay one more month on the original plan & the first bill you get on the second plan...you may want to time the billing cycle on original plan with this signup for minimum overlap purposes, then do a combo:
C. Change of responsibility / family plan merge to new account. What is not totally clear is if the more disadvantageous plan terms take precedence(longer contract length, higher prices of some addons like Hotzones, etc.)...

In that case a workaround to that could be: cancel service while utilizing military or poor coverage clauses to avoid termination fees, recoup phone #'s when/by adding lines to second plan, then subsequently drop the newer numbers/lines.

To those wanting to keep all those extra lines and/or wanting to also sign up to new Talk Forever plan(voip $9.95 month unlimited, can port existing landline numbers & plug in directly to router up to two extra numbers / POTS handsets)... can have maximum 5 phone numbers per social.
Also, don't order Talk Forever on the phone-- the new router won't be eligible for B&M FAR... wait till it gets to a physical location near you.

Forgot to add--

re the free accessory up to $50:

2gb card would not come up as a Pearl accessory, only for Slide.....

can NOT pick something higher-priced(and just pay the difference over 50)

This the only non-WOOT part of this deal-- free accessory up to $100 would've included something really useful like a 4gb card, chargepod, solar charger.

All in all, VERY Green for you, ET.

need confirmation... thx

Good luck to all the Dash buyers...I've had mine (now a paper weight) for about a year and a half; NOTHING but problems. Enjoy the alarm fix, the master resets, the power on/off glitches, etc. Otherwise, deal looks good if you can upgrade w/ it. NOTE: Get the insurance. I actually used the BB deal posted. Hopefully the 8820 works out a bit better.

Has anyone thought of this scenario?

I want a Curve, which is in the other BB promo thread, but this is a nice deal as well due to the 12% monthly discount. A theoretical plan of mine (for family plan users) would be to sign up the 'main line' on this promo and since each line is treated as separate contracts, just sign up for the BBs on each individual line. This is presuming that the main line gets the 12% off the family plan price (eg, $49.99) or even better yet, the entire bill. Then there's the whole MSISDN situation and how it'll be treated.

Can someone with employer discounts confirm how their % off works?

You don't have to go through all the trouble. Employee discounts are just added codes. You can do whatever and then simply call in when its all done and tell them to add the Avon employee discount if you want. I could be wrong.

clearly you don't watch judge judy .

Whats the better way to msisdn ?

1. Is it better to add 2 new lines to current OOC family plan and then cancel old lines (once the new phones are available) and ask for msisdn

OR

2. Start a new family plan without telling them about my old OOC family plan and then cancel old lines (once the new phones are available) and ask for msisdn

I have had a couple of Dash's and love them, one of the best things you can do is upgrade the OS from Here, not for the faint of heart, but this cooked ROM is pretty sweet, better browser, slicker interface, etc...

I just grabbed a couple of BB Curves this week and my daughter was unwilling to replace her beat to death Dash with one after using it or a day.

Wow, i got shot down trying to post a very similar (slightly better) deal a few months ago. Threw it up in discussion first and even got myself a mod email telling me naughty naughty.

Why? Because this deal directly benefits Avon. Every like your 'friends and family' sign up goes towards their $ total which buys them corporate discounts and also buys the TMO rep who 'owns' this account a nice fat bonus check if he can grow the dollars.

So yes, good deal, but you'll have to forgive me for being bitter and pointing out that this *technically* violates FW rules.

Anybody has an answer for this ?

I've had 2 Dash's (on family plan) for 1.5 years, my brother has had one for 1.5 years, and my nephew has had one for a year. No problems with any of them. I tether mine to my notebook every weekday for at least 6 hours, and talk at least 2.5 hours.

For those considering buying any of these phones, for data services in particular, none of them will operate with T-Mobile's new 3G.

Just food for thought.

I bought the sidekick Slide just in order to resell. It makes you setup a username and password to use it, so i did everything. I want to sell the phone and want to make it like how it comes from factory (setup a new username and all) so I can sell it. I looked but could not find anything. Does anyone know how to do it?

Hi,

Does anyone know if the phone/s are free only after a rebate? Does T-Mobile charge you first for the phone/s then credit you after you send in the rebate?

Also, Can someone get 2 free phones listed vs. one free phone. Such as if I am going to get a family plan.

Thanks in advance,
Christine

what if i am not an Avon Rep and do not have any friends as Avon rep?

Phones are free after rebate. T-Mo charges you first then mail you a check when your rebate processes.

You can get one free phone per line in your family plan, up to the 5 line maximum that you can have on a family plan. Each line after the second will of course, be $9.99 extra a month.

hommer said: what if i am not an Avon Rep and do not have any friends as Avon rep?

Then you should not / cannot do this promotion. This promotion is only available to Avon employees as someone else previously mentioned (even friends do not apply). I recommend searching for other T-Mobile discount codes (there are several). With that said, they do not verify employment and they will take you at your word. You be the judge.

Wow...my nominee for post of the day, and from a senior member! Too cool.

Whats with the "Senior Member" crap? New member may even know better than Senior. I am here to hunt and share deal, period.

You must be so proud to be a 1k "Senior Member?" from the sound of it... sigh
