This is a pretty good wireless router if you just want to use it "as is" and do NOT want to mess with DD-WRT or Tomato. Much better range with the external antennas vs the current hideous looking Linksys black routers with internal antennas.

You can put DD-WRT on this. So great even if you are willing to mess with DD-WRT.

Will this work good as a wireless extender for a Buffalo router?

Thanks for the heads up! Save another $20 if you're up for the rebates: Router 29.98 + Norton Antivirus single user 39.99 - 20 (NAV w/ router purchase 07-75149) - 20 (NAV Single User 08-05679) - 20 (NAV upgrade 07-75077)= ~$10 for the router. 2nd Proof of Purchase is in the NAV box.

Darn, I just bought a new router last week (this same one, but the Linux version), and paid $20 more, even after rebate. Darn, darn, and triple darn. Oh well, I don't think I could have stood not having my wireless for another day anyway.

They aren't... but you can still put DD-WRT micro on this.

I have tried a number of wireless routers, including Buffalo's. None of them worked well, always problems with setup and wireless losing connection.
This wireless router worked the first time and has "never" lost connection. Easy to setup and easy to configure. Love this router. SOLID wireless finally!

This has only 2MB flash. SO only micro version of DD-WRT.
If you want to put DD-WRT, Fry's has Airlink 430 for 17.99 through 5/6

Actually, you can get it for a little better than that if you can find some filler. Router 49.94 + Norton Antivirus 39.98 + $10 filler - coupon for $15 off $100 - $60 rebates - $20 instant savings on router = $5
edited to note that the Zebra pens are FAR $3.19- 0.20 instant savings - $2.99 SER so you only have to come up with $7 worth of filler

Guess it depends on the version, but yeah, most likely the newer versions you'll get here.

Rebates all here. Note that 08-05679 is a SER, not a parago/norton rebate. I'm pretty sure you can do this all online, with free shipping too. Unfortunately that precludes use of the 15/100 coupon, but if the nearest Staples is 100 miles away, it's a lot easier to let UPS do the work
