Yup, not a great price for the combo drive (I think I remmeber seeing it for $120-130 a few weeks ago at Micro Center).

The GGW-H20L is ~$270, about and average price (although, I will say, it is a burner I'm happy with even though I didn't get it for much less than $270 when I bought it soon after it came out).

I don't remember seeing them that low. You're probably talking about the reader across the board (BDROM HDDVDROM DVDROM, etc.) I would've remembered a deal like that since a few weeks ago, I finished my HTPC build and the lowest price I could find on this drive was around the price OP posted. I work 15 miles from MC and am in there all the time. I ended up driving up to Mwave and picking this one up.

I do agree that it is not a hot deal; warm at best.

You are probably talking about the Lite-On BD rom. I've never seen LG dual format went that low.

Actually every retail LG GGW-H20L comes with a blank rewritable disc. if you add the GGW-H20L blu-ray writer to the cart at Newegg and go to your cart, you will see an additional blank rewriteable disc.

update: Confirmed that it is a second blank, shipped individually.

Actually, confirmed that it's NOT. There is no RW disc inside the burner box.

I got an RW disc in my box from Newegg and also got another shipped individually.

edit. Initially, this thread was posted for a blu ray writer. Some of us pointed out that the deal as posted was not for a blu ray writer. The deal as posted would not have had a blank blu ray disc in the box. We also posted links to actual blu ray writers. The deal I posted had a blank in the box and also an additional blank. The Newegg price of this blu ray burner has gone up since my post.

I just got mine from Newegg. Nothing in the box. Only got the extra one.
