not bad if you need it now for personal use. For all you ebayers - there is not much profit on just an upgraded graphics card.
Man, CPU upgrades are expensive, why is that? These 1.4 just junk, who wants to get a great computer which has a 4 cylender engine.

It's a laptop. Most people don't use their laptops for anything other than surfing the net.
any reason to not take away -25 to downgrade the ram to 1GB?
last I checked, you can get 2GB of ram for that price.

There are only 2 sodimm sockets. So it may not be worth the hassle. 2gb is plenty for general office use and web browsing.
ehhh i thought i'd be mad that I just got in on the vostro 1000 deal last week.... but im not. Nothing more special here, unless you really hate amd.
wow much better than yesterday's XPS 1530. In for one.

Huh?
If only our orders would have went through for the xps1530 we'd have gotten a much better deal...faster processor...vista premium instead of basic...Wireless 5720 EVDO Mini Card for Verizon...Finger Print Reader...the letters "xps" across the back of your laptop always makes people envious...Tuxedo black...forgive me I'm only dreaming...If only!

If all you do is surf the net why spend this money then? Go buy refurbished celeron for $250, or new after rebate for $300.
where do you see $300 after rebate or refurb for $250?

For XP maybe, but not with Vista sitting at the table.

It may be for that price but keep in mind that the second dimm slot is under the keyboard. While it's not that hard to do, IMO I'd rather have them do the work instead. ![]()

Because surfing the net probably also includes sites like youtube, myspace, facebook and other media-rich sites that require a certain amount of power to run smoothly. I'm sure they'd like to 'multitask' and have multiple windows open at once too. A celeron may not cut it in that case.
