Lets say he signs up 100 ppl and he gets 200 per sign up. That is $20,000.

To send out 100 GPS units it will cost him $15,900.

He nets $4,100

Hmm.. what he decides.. wow 20k. If I don't pay out.. I could have $20 grand.

Your cost assumption is based on the assumption that this promo is offering new new Garmins. Where in the promo terms and conditions does it state or even remotely imply you will receive a new Garmin nuvi? It doesn’t. It simply states the one you will receive will be a $169 value. There are numerous credit card signup incentives deals posted in the finance forum here at FW and other deal sites where people received refurbished products items for credit card signup incentives.

the biggest question is ... Will I be update my garmin with the latest maps when it arrives ???

You guys are forgetting another angle they can use to weasle out of sending you one of these: note the "while supplies" last" term. In theory even if a hundred of us sign up for this, he could only have 5 in "supply" and could "legitimately" (by his terms) stiff everyone else ...

since they advertised on this site, they sure will be watching what are being posted in this thread. so my guess is we will surely get it. if they want to get more people to sign up they need to give what they have promised. I do not see any foul play.

for the refurb unit, most of these refurb units are as good as new and that comes with one year warranty from the manufacturer. so no need to worry about whether it is a new one or refurb. one.

just got off the phone with discover. she manually approved me after i received a 'within 30 days ' email notice. so i am in for 1! thanks OP as i don't have a GPS!!
