Family Unlimited calling plan $100 for 4 phones, no signed contracts.
Linkie (click on "Family Plan")
limited coverage?
No coverage where I live, so won't work for me. May work for some of you though.

From the MetroPCS website:

What is included in the plan?
The Family Unlimited plan includes local and long distance, voice mail, caller ID, call waiting, unlimited domestic text messaging.

How many phones can I have on the plan?
You may have a minimum of 2 phones and a maximum of 5 phones to make use of the Family Unlimited plan.

What happens after the promotional period ends?
Customers that sign up for the promotion during the promotional period will be able to stay in the program after it ends. However, no new phones can be added to receive the Family Unlimited Plan discount after 7/31/08.

Edit: Roaming charges apply

Last I knew, this was basically you save $10/month on the "extra" lines...any plan. Is this different than that?

The problem with this plan is that the coverage area is very limited so if you travel you're either going to be without service or pay roaming fees of $0.50 a minute and up!

That's true. It may work for my parents who don't travel long distance much.

cyfan: I don't know much about this plan/company. I saw the ad on the TV (or maybe heard it on the radio) last week. Not much more info on their website either.

BTW, I got some version of this for me since I have my work phone to use when I travel out of the area. I also got it for my daughter so she could text/talk/send pictures, etc and I'd never have overage charges. If she leaves the area without one of her parents with her, I want the police involved!

Thanks for the info guys. Updated the original post to state that roaming charges apply.

I switched to this company. Saves me a ton. Only drawback is that they have phones that are not at reduced prices, so you would normaly pay around $150 for just an average phone. BUT!!!!!!!!! They have a new service at the company stores where you can have them clear out most CDMA phones that were for use on a different carrier.

I went to K-Mart and bought pay as you go Verizon units (the U30)for $19.99 and had Metro PCS 'clear' them

Their similar phone was $169 so I saved $150 per phone!

Talk about save money!

I don't see this offer on their website when I enter my zip. Is this a B&M deal?

According to their website they charge $30 to clear the phone. Did you have to pay it?

Also, check online for the list of phones that can be cleared before buying a new phone.
