Still a better deal and now you finally get to drink out of a blue glass instead of a clear one
At mine it's the clear one for the paid drinks. Just hate people eating in line and going back to the tongs with their dirty fingers. That's my only pet peeve about such buffet places.
Dude, try to be logical. People dont put their dirthy hands directly into the bowl -- RIGHT !!
What is the guarantee that you go to a Burger place or any food joint infact, order something and that what ever you order is made with neatness and cleanliness..
THINK - You ordered a chicken burger and while making the burger the cook drops it on the floor but he just cleans it and puts back onto your bun and you eat it. *%^$*($#@!
Atleast, people here are good and they maintain a neat premises.
GREEN for OP .. eating Green and keeping healthy
True.. but at least I don't get to see people dropping or dipping the finger right in front of me at another place. Regardless, I just think it's etiquette. You wouldn't want someone sticking a thumb in your soup while they serve it to you, then why would you think people want you going back to the tongs with your dirty fingers for some more. For some reason there is a sign that says resist temptation.
But... GREEN for OP as I just tried the coupon and it worked at my local Sweet Tomatoes. Glad to hear that the coupon worked fine for you. I just came back from Sweet Tomatoes (in San Jose) and the coupon worked perfectly. No ID check, no hassle; the cashier looked at it for less than four seconds and did a regular check-out. I understand what you mean about some people not fully respecting others. That happens, I guess, and if something gets messy, such as food from other containers getting into the one I'm going for, I usually just tell the employees there and they clean it up immediately. Out of all the buffet restaurants I've been to, I would have to say that Sweet Tomatoes and Fresh Choice are the two cleanest ones (Hometown Buffet would be the dirtiest in my experience). |

I've been eating at Souplantion for many years. I was just there for a late lunch today (Monday). Their prices just went up to $7.99 for lunch and $9.69 for dinner. I normally like to go just before dinner (4 p.m.) at the lunch coupon price ($6.89 in the L.A. Times Smart Source insert on Sunday). For that coupon, the register was programmed today to take too much off and I paid $6.49 + tax but did not need to pay for a drink. All drinks are one price (except bottled drinks) as their policy is you can switch from one type of drink to another (except bottled drinks). Now $2.49 at the Souplantaion I was at. They recently added their version of pepperoni pizza at dinner (it's o.k) and the current hot strawberry/apple cobbler (thru 5/31 at dinner only) is quite good. SO much better than Hometown Buffet. Hometown Buffet has to be the worst chain for food quality that there is. |

MV, would that be the Coleman location that you went to? Planning to go there sometime this week with a couple of friends and would like to know if you were able to use the cropped coupon. Thanks! |

I have used three different types of coupons there on at least six different occasions and have yet to have a single problem. Print out the coupon that is currently in the first post of this thread; the cashier should be perfectly fine with it. Enjoy your meal! |

A Pasadena restaurant is closed for business after 30 patrons become sick from a bacteria outbreak. The Souplantation on Lake Avenue closed voluntarily following news of the outbreak. Health officials are now trying to trace the source. I live too close for comfort...I went there once after knowing about this...and I'm sure the food was fine..but my mind make me feel sick....if that makes sense. Thanks anyway OP. |

CalItalian said:sonic2000 said:is sweet tomatoes the new name of souplanation? No. They use different names in different areas of the country. That is correct. My understanding is that the first store by this company was called Souplantation, and there are still more Souplantation restaurants than Sweet Tomatoes ones. However, their food is almost identical, and they run the same promotion. Quick note: Sweet Tomatoes and Souplantation coupons are always interchangeable. I only found this out last month when I called their corporate line, as my girlfriend and I had Sweet Tomatoes coupons from Northern California and wanted to visit a Southern California Souplantation, so I checked if the coupon would work. |

mastavic said:808Kid said:Got this in my inbox as well. Warm deal given the fact that you need to buy (2) drinks. For those of you who don't know, Souplantation isn't bad at all. True, but from what I can tell by looking around, most people seem to purchase drinks anyway (my sister and I actually looked around on purchase twice because we were surprised so many people didn't opt for just water).
To save money, go during their lunch hours and save approximately $2. If you're thrifty (hey, you're on FW!), go right before their dinner menu starts so you can pay for lunch and eat their dinner items. However, I should note that there is usually only a two-item difference between lunch and dinner.
Edit: Oops, sorry; double posted. I meant to edit the thread above but forgot to. Well, as long as I understand, Souplantation is known with good soup and salad. I did not see any reason to fill my stomach with soda and sugar artificial favour water rather 5~6 kinds of different soap & fruit. |

My sister's ex-boyfriend almost never eats vegetables, but he ended up eating a lot of salads at Sweet Tomatoes (however, he still doesn't eat vegetables outside of the restaurant). And my girlfriend's brother is very similar, but the one time he went to Souplantation, he really liked their pre-made salads. My girlfriend and I couldn't stop laughing about it because we barely ever see him touch vegetables. |

Their Big Chunk Chicken Noodle Soup is my girlfriend's favorite item at Sweet Tomatoes (which checking the site for the name of the soup, I noticed that it's low fat, which is nice). I'm glad I could help =) |
