The one from last year (at least the one I bought) was a Honeywell rather than a Holmes. Unless you are running it wide open, it is whisper quiet. I don't know how the Holmes compares - but a good price nonetheless.....

I have a similar holmes fan (it's the table model), and it's great. Whisper quiet and moves a lot of air.

Amazing how no one has commented on the rebate. I never received mine from last year on the Honeywell - it was a LNT rebate. With the current situation they are in, I would be doubtful about going into this thinking rebate will be fulfilled.

Same experience as last year. Either you like the paid price and forget about the rebate, or waste time fight for the $10 rebate with time you might better use somewhere else.

For shame! You are not a true Fatwalleteer unless you spend 40 cents on a stamp because you bought 10000 of them on eBay to save 2 cents, so you can mail your $10 rebate. Then you have to make copies of everything in case the rebate doesn't come. Then you have to plug the rebate into your Fatwalleteer rebate spreadsheet and monitor the progress of the rebate with nail biting precision. If it is late you have to make threatening phone calls demanding to be paid your $10 or else you'll be writing your congressman and never frequenting that business again (and neither will your "friends!" - think Tiger Direct). After all these precautions, if your $10 rebate comes, you can clutch it to your chest, remove it from the spreadsheet, spend $2.50 in gas to drive to the bank, wait in line for 10 minutes and finally after six months that $10 is YOURS! WOO HOO, you stuck it to the company, you scored one for the little guy, you win!
