I don't shop Dillards very often. Do they offer in-store pickup to save on shipping?

NM - it doesn't appear Dillards offers in-store pickup.

are any of these carry-ons?

I have a Kenneth Cole bag and it is made very well. I paid about a similar price at Ross or one of those stores a year ago and I would definitely buy a similar bag again. The construction, especially the telescoping handle is good quality and feels very sturdy.

Dillards does often have the same clearance in store, so if they have any in stock the price is probably the same, but ymmv.

I wouldn't touch anything Kenneth Cole. I purchased a very expensive leather work bag last July for $250, it was originally $425 and I had coupons and such to bring it down. The list of problems include.

- All leather outside, but the inside flap is plether (plastic leather), which is cracking very badly.

- Shoulder strap clips to the bag loops are losing their chrome-ish finish, which is peeling away.

- Front buckle broke within 3 months, the hinge came apart one day.

- Bottom corner leather is losing its stitching and paper (yes paper) is flaking, ripping, and coming apart.

- Stitching everywhere is coming apart or a lot of loose threads are hanging (I have to trim a lot)

- The rubber-ish stuff on the edges is in very poor shape.

It's not like I am throwing this bag around. I work at an i-bank in NYC, not a construction site and the bag is treated very well. Yet it's starting to look like a pile of trash within 10 months of purchasing.

This only mirrors what I have seen regarding KC shoes. They charge a not so small amount for crappy craftsmanship and materials. The shoes fit poorly over time and look horrible within a year or two despite good treatment and polishing. I thought the bag would be different since it was their NY line (I had both NY and Reaction shoes).

The popular press has recently commented how KC has gone down hill. AFAIK many have lost confidence on management to get quality back into their lines and streamline non-core competencies.

by the way the 21" upright SHOULD be within the allowable limit for a carry-on:

The safe maximum size is 45", in the form of a 22" x 14" x 9" bag. Some airlines allow up to as much as 55", but most do not.

The briefcases are completely different from the luggage.

The luggage is excellent quality, a steal at these prices. I have a KC suitcase that has been taken on over 100 business trips and has no problems. Before then I had a Victornox bag that lasted about 7 or 8 trips.

I just got back from the DIllards in ABQ NM (Winrock) They had these in store at the same price (YMMV). Im impressed with the quality and really like the tan color. We'll see how well they hold up after our trip next month. Thanks OP
