T-mobile Prepaid

T-Mobile.com is offering the Nokia 2610 free A/R. Standard shipping is also free. This maybe useful for anyone who has T-Mobile and wants to replace/upgrade a postpaid handset...you can also fill it up with 100 dollars in airtime (good for 1 year) and leave it in your glovebox for emergencies.

What are the T&C for the rebate?
Any minimum charge amount required etc.?

I am too lazy to check....

Use FatCash to make $5.00 AR. LINK

EDIT: All this needs now is the Free $25 refill card to make this super hot

Sweet - nice find OP. I would have missed that, just yesterday everything was regular price on their site.

$30 mir ?

no way,

pass

Daughter has this phone and it is acting up. I just want to replace the phone...don't want any minutes or any other charges like that. Do I understand right that I can just get this phone for free without any hidden fees or buying a pre-paid card up front? If so, this is a sweet deal for me.

$30 is child's play. $130 (like from Comcast) is more of a sweat. Besides, T-Mobile rebates are reliable.

where we get the rebate form?

Called the CSR and he said there is nothing additional things we need to buy, and the phone already comes with $10 talktime.

Where could we get the rebate form? Thank you.

I went all the way through except hitting the place order button and did not see any details about the rebate - no pdf, nothing. www.tmobilerebates.com doesn't list the Nokia 2610. Passing.

I also had the same concerns so I called the CSR and she did an over-the-phone order and said the rebate forms will be in the mail when the phones are shipped. I got two phones (because I am sure daughter will break yet another phone). She was very accommodating and hopefully this will go smoothly.

I'd recommend a pass on this deal unless you want to gamble your $30.

I had the company fight me tooth and nail over a rebate with the Nokia 6030 To-Go deal last year. A number of us on here and the "other" site were affected by their made up T&C that were never listed on the PDF. Additionally, some members reported the CSRs told them T-Mobile.com purchases weren't an "authorized dealer".

If you really need a phone that supports the GSM network, it might be worth the risk.

Rebate may be one per address.

take you all the way thru checkout then AFTER taking you $$
on hard hold with the CC ... have to call them up to confirm
the NSA issues.when maybe or maybe not get the phone.. nice!!

Let's hope she is right.

In for 1. Thanks.

I get your point, but your post is ignoring the obvious difference in this case. In the old deal, you were buying the phone from t-mo and then pairing it with an unadvertised rebate. This time, t-mo is clearly, directly advertising the rebate in combination with the purchase. So there is no inherent risk or more cause for concern than with any other rebate. You're comparing apples and oranges.

Note: While supplies last. Tax and shipping charges apply. Offer not available in retail stores; purchase must be made through T-Mobile.com or by calling 1-877-387-4324. Offer available only through purchase of Prepaid device and qualified Prepaid Service plan.

Not sure if it will work without the plan or even which plan they are taking about.

bozo007 said: Rebate may be one per address.TMO rebates have always been 5 per household/year (year = 12 month period, not calendar year).

No, they are not. The $30 one I had was on their site, I was told the form would be in the box. When it wasn't they e-mailed me a form and it was still denied by them. I've had no problems with the service, but a rebate coming through from them I would not count on.

Nothing else to buy, but to qualify for the rebate, you must activate the SIM, make at least one call, and your account must be active when the rebate is processed. The airtime is valid for 90 days, so it shouldn't be necessary to add any more time (assuming you save at least a minute). Discalimer: This is all based on the T&C's of previous TMO rebates.

Note that this phone is difficult, if not impossible to unlock.

SIM Card Unlock Code FAQs

Are there any TMO phones that cannot be unlocked?

Currently, all TMO Sidekick® phones and the TMO To Go Nokia 2610P are unable to be unlocked.

This is my opinion, not a threadcrap.

If you want a "real" phone, I'd suggest that you get the Motorola V195s (Quad-Band) for $39.99 - free $25 refill (when it returns). Assuming that you can use the $25 card or sell it for close to face value, then the Moto is only ~$15 more and no rebate.

Plus, you can get the unlock code from TMO, if you meet the requirements, and use the phone anywhere in the world with another provider's SIM card.

Basic requirements for unlock are:
- Customer for 90 days or more
- Refill within 30 days for pre-paid
- 90+ days since your last unlock request

That's not what the CSR said when I talked to her. She understood why I wanted them (to replace a phone on a monthly plan) and she said the 10 minutes airtime was good for only 60 days (but I don't plan to use it as prepaid so I don't care). If I have any problems with anything she promised, I can always go to the local TMobile Company Store nearby and talk it over with them.

I'm in for 2 for the same address. Limit of 2

T-Mobile rebates are bad. I lost two rebates. Never ever buy again T-Mobile products they suck big time.

My rebate was denied last time on the basis that instant discount is already applied, even though it was advertised on the web page.
Even BBB couldn't resolve the issue. They don't honor their own rebates.

May be take a print out from their web page showing the FAR as final price which shows instant discoutn and MIR

In for one...

Thanks OP! Also, clicked through FatWallet CachBack

T-Mobile rebates suck.

In for one.

momgoingbroke said: That's not what the CSR said when I talked to her. ... she said the 10 minutes airtime was good for only 60 daysI just looked at my 10 minute activation card and it says 90 days of Service*.

*Activation of this card entitles you to up to 90 days of service, with a maximum non-promotional airtime value of 10 domestic minutes.

Obviously she is giving out incorrect information. So, I would take anything she said with a grain of salt.

did anyone else have a problem placing an order, my order went into order verifications or something and now i have to call in

edit: i called in and i just got put on hold for a nice wasted 20 minutes and all they said was okay you're verified, and that was it...weird?

I can't check out either

got one.

Thanks.
