title pretty much says it all. i was at my local home depot today and saw a display with an 18V Ryobi cordless drill (Model# P206), with a 18V (One+) battery AND a 1 hour charger for $29.97 !!!

Battery can be used in any of the multitude of Ryobi 18V tools. Drill itself is normally about $30, battery is about $20 and charger andother $20. So this works out to be less than half price.

Not available online, B&M only, YMMV.

I will have to check it out. I was looking at buying the Ryobi cordless trimmer, and needed a battery.

Getting ready to go to my local HD right now so I'll report back.

use the 10 off 25 lowes coupon and you're good to go at $19.97 + tax!

Plenty of them in the Morrow Georgia Location it was upfront marked $29 next to a clearanced ryobi corded skill saw with free blades. price was either $29 or $49 for the saw cant remember sorry.

i've been using them for the last 3 weeks successfully at 4 SoCal locations. Usually, the cashier calls a manager and asks if they accept the coupon. the managers never look twice and just approve it - i think they've seen them around.
I've even used multiple coupons back-to-back...the cashier just rang up the transactions seperately.
But yes, YMMV...but looks promising!

awesome find OP! don't need it for myself, as I already have a bunch of Ryobi One+ stuff from past sales, but this will be good to tell my niece about so she can get it for her dad. who knows, I may get another one for myself too.

now if only I could get my hands on that $10 coupon...

They had them up front @ my local store here in San Antonio but they were marked $69.95.

Where can I download the Lowes coupon?

Just picked one up at Home Depot in Syosset, NY. It was the Ryobi P207 (seems to be the same one as described above)Was able to use the Lowes $10 off $25 coupon with no problem.
Does anyone know if the P206 and P207 are different?

Just picked one up in Baltimore at the Eastern Ave Home Depot. I paid $21.17 after coupon with tax.

Thanks for the heads up....I was going to buy this anyway as my 6 year old Ryobi 18V just died last week. This way I get another battery and charger as well.

I also just picked one up. Don't be fooled by the model number P207 marked on the box, the drill inside still have P206 on its label.

Will this drill use the battery from Black and Decker? I have 10 18-volt batteries from Black and Decker.

How is this dril compared to the B&D at Lowes for $29?

nennen said: Will this drill use the battery from Black and Decker? I have 10 18-volt batteries from Black and Decker.

No, Ryobi uses battery packs with a "cartridge" on top. B&D's batteries are slide-packs.
But the Lowe's B&D deal going on right now uses the standard B&D 18V batteries.

Looks like the P207 refers to the combo. I picked up one with the Lowes coupon, total with tax 21.XX. Seems this is a Ryobi promo, as the price tag said something like "Ryboi 18V Drill Kit Promo". There are whole bunch of those on the shelf on my store. Along side, a single pack of battery is also 29.97.

But isn't a drill normally comes with one battery? So I am not sure how you get the "bare" drill price?

I have seen the B&D package. I think the Ryobi is better:
Ryobi looks bigger and has a 1/2" chunk while B&D has 3/8"
Ryobi has 24 positions torque control and 2 speeds control, while B&D has 6 positions speed control
Ryobi's charger is bigger and looks better.
Ryobi has not light, I think B&D has it.
Ryobi has a level indicator, don't know about B&D.

paired with lowes $10 off $25, no brainer, as i could use a 3rd battery and 2nd charger... GREAT deal!

BTW: i own this drill from buying a different set, very solid for home/light duty, no question about value, especially at this price!

Good. An extra battery is what I want.

No -- Ryobi One+ tools normally do NOT include a battery unless purchased in a combo kit (which is what the P207 is -- a combo kit with a charger and a battery).

I have a TON of Ryobi tools and love them -- the fact that they all use the same batteries, the batteries are affordable, and Ryobi has maintained compatibility even with their new tools and new Li-Ion battery series, has made a BIG Ryobi convert out of me.

In terms of longevity, they are NOT up to the level of DeWalt or other "contracter" grade tools -- but for the typical home user they are great. Actually, even a lot of the contracters I know have started using the Ryobi's -- under heavy use they last about half as long as the DeWalt's do -- but they cost less than 1/3 as much and the batteries even less than that. They basically just treat them as semi-disposable and buy the combo kits in bulk and just keep a spare set or two in their trucks with them.

Probably the best tool of theirs I have -- which is devilishly hard to find -- is the 18V Cordless Hedge-Trimmer. This thing works GREAT and runs a long time on a single battery. It has a double cutting action blade and probably has 2x the cutting power than my CORDED Black & Decker trimmers do. It typically takes me two batteries and about 2-3 hours to trim the brush around the two edges of my property (about 400' total -- of hedge, wild roses, honeysuckle, blackberries, and small trees).

Hail Ryobi!

Thanks OP, needed a 2nd battery and drill.
Got 1 with a $10 off Lowes Coupon.
2 left at NW highway OKC.

It's an awesome deal. I own quite a few of the One+ tools, as well as the lithium ion battery's. Which are backwards compatible with the old "blue" tools. So far I don't have a single complaint about any of the tools. So far I have the drill [in this kit], circular saw, light, recip saw, chainsaw, right angle drill, vac, and the fan. I recently used the drill to drive in quite a few thick 1 1/2" screws into 2x4's for a shelf I was building. I could feel the handle getting torqued quite a bit... but it drove all of them in with ease. In the future I'll probably just buy the dedicated driver that they have. But as far as power goes... it definitely has enough for anything that you'll encounter around the house and will definitely be good for medium duty usage elsewhere.

can anyone please post the sku number so i can search for it at my local HD. thanks

Yes please--I couldn't find it at my local Home Depot.

From my receipt (but I think that is not the SKU, but still hope this number will help you):

that's the UPC code. not sure if associates can use that for an inventory check.

I was in tool dept at Portage MI store yesterday, and didnt see any of them.
As far as the batteries go, they are very similar to a Craftsman 18v battery. My 18V Ryobi batteries will work in my Craftsman 18V drill, but they do not lock in place, so it is only in a pinch.
Good find.

I went back and picked up another one using the coupon, since I am planning to buy more Ryobi cordless tool
and can use another battery/charger. The one of interest is the edge trimmer and the chainsaw. How is the chainsaw?
It costs $60 at HD. How long will the regular NiCad battery last in it? Thanks.

I've got most of the ryobi 18 volt tools, my 2 cents:

Worth getting: drill (use it everyday - i have 2 of them), reciprocating saw, rotozip, miter saw, flashlight, hand vacuum

Just okay: circular saw, jigsaw

Not worth getting: chainsaw

only downside is that my set (a few years old now), the batteries don't hold a charge as long but this is not a big deal since spare batteries are only $20 each so i have about 6 of them and always keep extras charged. and only takes 1 hour to recharge a spent battery.

So what is wrong with the chainsaw? Way underpower? Battery doesn't last long enough to be useful? TIA

YMMV !='most' or 'many'.

I would think it is a lottery.

Most DO accept a competitor coupon. The fact it was self printed is null since the coupon can only be had through email.

I think its better than the B&D for one reason: It charges much faster. The B&D takes 9 hours.

Also, can anyone post the SKU or UPC please?

Had a bunch in the Round Lake, IL store. In the tools section.
