Your choice of:

Seagate ST3750640AS-RK 750GB 16MB Cache 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/S Full Retail boxed Internal HD SATA

or

Seagate ST3750640A-RK 750GB 16MB Cache 7200RPM UATA/100 Full Retail boxed Internal HD UATA

$109.99 + ship from Frys.com

Limit 1 per customer, so no RAID love for y'all.

Did a quick search, and the SATA seems like a better deal than the PATA (which seems to have been recently FWed @ $100 + ship,) but both were listed in the email I got so I'm passing it along as well, though I'm really only recommending the SATA deal.

Edited to fix links and add retailer info.

Actually he clicked the wrong link; if he clicks the SATA or UATA links, it'll show up as 110, the search results show 189 like he said.

you may want to consider getting an external drive to avoid this

.

naw just go to the egg and pick one that seems to cool decent. Or wait for a deal around here. I always put my own drives in externals so i know what type of hd i am getting

If you don't need the cables and pretty box, the OEM version is at Newegg and Chief Value for $110 shipped.

I paid $85 last week for a Seagate 500GB 7200.11 32MB cache drive. Anyone know how much of a performance hit I would take if I returned the drive and got one of these?

they say 1 per customer but my sales guy printed out 4 sheets and said i'd have to pay for each individually. these will replace my readynas drives. for those looking for an enclosure, fry's also has the antec mx-1 for $29.99 - but my local frys only had a returned one on the shelf so chances are these will be gone.

CC also has the sata drive for $179 (3 limit) so i'm going to try the price match.

Wow, You're lucky. My Fry's are total Nazis about the limits...even on the last day of the sale, in the last 10 minutes of store hours when there are 70 left on the shelf.

To anyone that's ordered one of these from Frys.com lately (either the SATA or PATA) -- are you actually getting the ST3750640A(S) one inside the box, which is the 7200.10 version, or are you getting the ST3750330A(S) one which is the newer 7200.11 version?

I ask because Fry's has long been known to advertize the older model and actually ship the newer model with still showing the older model on the invoice (thus making it impossible to get a PriceGrabber bonus rebate approved due to a discrepency in model # on receipt vs UPC.)

Also the 7200.11 has 1 less platter and therefore needs less power (about 1 watt less) and also has lower noise ratings as well.

If your going to use it a your main drive/os then keep what ya have as the 7200.11 have a much better/higher substained rate . If its just for storage than it really wont matter .
