ZzZzs said:The SCE rebate won't fly here in socal. Look at the bottom of your receipt. On mine it says I've received $50 off courtesy of SCE. I suspect the same in other states - that's why the shelf price is $208 but $158 at the register. Is this the same in other states?the receipt i got from the rowland heights, ca, store doesn't show the $50 off courtesy of SCE, and the store shelf signs did not have that verbiage either; however, i did see that verbiage at the shelf signs for the costco sharp ac units. edit: the link from the sce website for qualifying units shows only the FAC107P1A model as qualifying for the $50 rebate: link from sce website but, the link from the sce rebate form shows both the FAC107P1A AND FAC107S1A models as qualifying for the $50 rebate: link to energystar.gov website for energy star ac units i have a feeling that lowes is offering the $50 sce rebate as an instant rebate just like costco is doing, but they're not communicating it like costco is. my receipt doesn't say anything about the sce rebate, but the pico rivera, ca receipt apparently does. |

I didn't see it either until I checked again the following day. Under the barcode it reads: "you have received $50.00 off your energy star qualified room air conditioner purchase courtesy of southern california edison". Thought the price was too good to be true but the store idiot said they weren't taking the rebate off at the register. And I thought I was getting a 10K air conditioner for $98. lol I have a problem with the installation of a 10K unit. Mine has an U shaped bracket on top and it's only about 7/8" wide. Not nearly enough for my 1 3/8" sash. I'm thinking they put a sliding window bracket on it and the bracket for this unit should be an L shaped bracket. Do any of you have a U shaped bracket screwed to the top of your ac unit? Or more to the point - what kind of bracket is supposed to be on top of this thing. - thx

go to Costco, and get modern, remote controlled units for significantly less... if you're buying two or more, the difference in cost could outweight the membership fee! (especially if your electric provider gives EnergyStar Rebates on window A/Cs)
@
the 15kBTU model has an EER of 10.7, so it IS EnergyStar Compliant, and you might be eligible for the $50 rebate found here*
*-this site will let you look up the model to see if it is EnergyStar Compliant. The actual rebate will come from your local energy company. Just took home the 8K BTU unit. Looks like its EER is 10.8 and it's on the list. Hope my local energy ppl have something going. Thanks for the link! |

.......under the barcode, mine just says, "thank you for shopping lowe's. receipt required for cash refund......" it doesn't mention sce anywhere. i haven't taken mine out of the box yet so i don't know what type of bracket mine comes with. |

Any info on FAC127S1A I have a 30 x 15' room (kitchen) that opens up to a family room on one side and dining room on the other. There's a lot of air space so I'm hoping to get 1 airconditioner to put in the kitchen that will help cool both other room. I also have a 115 outlet. Let me know your opinions/experiences with this model (as it's on sale) - though the sale price is not much lower than other places prices for 15,100 btu Frigidare (was Lowe's orig. price on this REALLY $600 - if so why would it be so much more expensive for the same 15,100 btu? thanks |

do some google searching for "BTU room calculator air conditioner" to determine the BTU requirement for your cooling area. BTW, I bought the 12,000 BTU a couple weeks ago and love it! |

However I can't buy larger b/c then it seems that they're all 230 volts. thanks |
