Suprilative searchings skills prevented you from opening another thread on the topic. Kudos!!! Now to find batteries... |

If you NEED a highly-rated, AA/AAA Smart Charger, you may want to check and see if either deal is still available. good find! maha is 3 times better than la crosse as in 3yr warranty vs 1yr. there is no competition. maha c9000 is worth the extra money if any. they are very close in price now. my bc900 broke down just after a year and their customer survey is nonexistant which is universally known. so guess which is the better deal when you break down the cost... |

poohbie said:Does this charger have issues sometime in detecting end of charge @ the default 200mA charge rate? I was charging my 2000mA Eneloops @200mA and it seemed to charge longer than normal and voltage went up over 1.5v. the rule of thumb is .5C to 1C charge rate. C=Capacity, for example 2000mah eneleoop, charge between 1000-2000ma this is so that it can reliably detect the -deltaV to stop the charger. |

Just curious - any discussion/opinion about what some have experienced? (meltdown and a fire hazard while using (check out the lowest rating posts on Amazon, for example, or just google it). Thanks in advance! |

Thanks in advance! I wouldn't know a good charger from a bad one if they both fell on my head. However, there are people who are really in to this on the candlepower forum site. Check out the "batteries" forum and you'll see people have written on these chargers extensively. It seems that both are good. Probably overkill for the way most people will use them. I have the BC-900 and it has worked flawlessly, but might very well have bought the Maha had the price difference not been $20 at the time. |
