Hmm, seems like a good deal. How does it compare to the Sammy 46" A650/A550s?

You can either live with the banding or not. I personally would go with Sony/Samsung.

alert mods

These were newer models and banding is not an issues with these.

AVSforum has more details here

stick with the sammy's.. Much better contrast ratio for a couple hundred more.. No banding issues too.

There is a link to avsforums for the sharp already and also it is known fact the sammy's have higher contrast ratio and no banding issues.

[Mod Edit: Inappropriate content removed.] this is a good tv and I have not seen this price since when I got mine on Black Friday.

MyDiscover has a point in that if you want a better TV, the Samsung models are probably it. I, for one, own this TV and my only regret was that I only got the 46" and not the 52". For the record, no banding on mine.

Ignore the ignorant poster's, this is a good tv and I have not seen this price since when I got mine on Black Friday.

They have this same price at Circuit City right now. Pricegrabber shows $100 more. Good deal, but certainly not jaw dropping. By the way, you can get banned for calling other people ignorant on this forum because you don't agree with them. You might want to show your intelligence and edit your post.

I have this TV as well as other 2 friends of mine. Absolutely no Banding issue for us. These are great TV for the money.

FYI the "nut-swingers" about contrast ratio. MFGs can claim any "dynamic" contrast ratio if they want. They all vary differently and not "uniformed" to a standard. Don't get me wrong, I have both the Sammy and Sharp. They're both great TVs. But comparing contrast ratio is useless unless you see it & tune it to the optimal performance.

.

one left, but the price is $1499.99

people in washington state would do better to buy from vann's directly and avoid state sales tax (9% in seattle)

how about if they are really ignorant and it's just the truth?

seems that people don't know a factual statement from a put down - being ignorant is being unaware. that's all.

Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) ig·no·rant ɪgnərənt/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[ig-ner-uhnt] –adjective

1. lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned: an ignorant man.

2. lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact: ignorant of quantum physics.

3. uninformed; unaware.

4. due to or showing lack of knowledge or training: an ignorant statement.

[Origin: 1325–75; ME ignora(u)nt < L ignōrant- (s. of ignōrāns), prp. of ignōrāre to ignore; see -ant]
