Or $25 in my case. This isn't refillable? I thought that was one of the main reason we bought laser printers -- to save money by refilling! |

This is a new product, and I believe toner will hit the market from many sites soon. That link is for a UK site. I've found none on this side of the pond. Read another site then.here "The new Samsung ML2851 can be refilled using our Universal ML powder as there is a refill plug under the end cover however the red warning light will continue to flash and an out of toner status message pops up whenever you print however you can keep on printing." So therefore you buy universal ML powder for other Samsungs, such as ML-2010, 2510, etc, and use it. Remember this is new, so saying there is no toner refills is a little premature, especially with the info I just furnished you. Buy it on eBay. |

went to OD couple of hrs back , asked the mgr if he has it and he said they have 4 in stock , and he gladly gave me without any fuss for 40 bucks. they said OD is trying to get rid of excess inventory which i don't care, but he did say this cartridge is refillable. |

I'll avoid the fleaBay gougers (call it a personal preference). There's no rush... Probably like a lot of FWers, I have 2 ML-1740s and a ML-2510 unused in the basement, plus this one. And about 5 el-cheapo toners for each from the Best Buy clearance last fall. |

The other printers you mention are not duplex or networked. Duplex is a big improvementfor things like books. The other printers you mention can do it, but its a PITA and you run the risk of jams. Not worth the effort to try. |

While searching myself, I read about another Samsung cartridge that has a different kind of chip: a "killer" chip. Instead of counting copies and stopping printing when the cart. should be empty, it waits until the printer detects that it's actually empty. When that happens the printer tells the chip to destroy itself. If that's the case for this printer you can avoid the red light by keeping the cartridge topped If itt never gets empty it will keep working normally. You can't believe everything on that UK site, BTW. They state that the ML-2010 and 2510 cartridges need to have a hole melted into it and that's just plain wrong. Is it a simple error or do they want to sell a few more melters than they should? |

If you have ever tried to take a plug out of a ML-2010, you would realize that melting a hole the size of the nozzle for the toner might be a lot easier and cleaner. |

Id get this if it wasnt for the fact that I'd be losing a lot of money. I simply print everything for free at work! That $40 could fetch me over $700 at cvs. I love pwning cvs. |

Thanks OP! Picked one up yesterday. The manager told me that he had put it in the back incase one of the employees wanted it, but none of them wanted it. Bunch of idiots! So, I lucked out! Can't wait to set it up. It'll be replacing an ML-2010. Thanks! |
