buyustalked to discover and was told it is highly said:unlikely that the new card will b issued. unless u r a card member for close to a year new card generally will not b issued. if u try, your credit score will b hit even if it is denied. Never Call! I doubt if that is true in all cases. Discover has alot of different types of cards.. Discover Miles, Discover More etc... reason enough to apply for a new type of Discover card. |

(am I missing some thing?) this is not a deal where a call will ruin the deal. being a 3K senior member u should know. it is not wrong to ask the issuer of the card about issuance and not about the offer. |

I was only jokin.. I believe the Camera deal was for a Discover MORE card, the GPS was a Discover MILES card, and this DVD player is again for a Discover MORE card.. I would think that if you did the GPS deal you could say you changed your mind and like what the MORE card as to offer better, if they do indeed deny multiple cards. I already had 2 discover cards, when I applied for the camera deal and was approved, although I got a letter saying they noticed I had a 2nd Discover card and were cancelling my old car ending in 9999 and that I should use the new card. Someone in one of the other threads got a denial letter saying they wanted to see 7-months of activity on the previous card before they would be approved for a new one? |

budster said:Here's a good review on this DVD player. Unfortunately, it got bad marks on the LCD display. It might be that there was a bad manufacturing run of these players that got fixed later, but I'm wondering if somehow they are giving away refurbished units with LCD problems for this promotion?
http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/philips-docking-entertainment-system-dcp951/ The previous post from budster addresses the issue. The model with the 8.5 inch screen is a different model. |

Just call. Most matters will be expedited once on phone. I called and had no problem closing an "old" Discover card I wasn't using in exchange for the "new" card. They did drop me $1500 on my line of credit though. But seeing as I have 10 large still to spend and free dvd player/with Divx who cares. Slight misunderstanding as they were going to give new card and let me keep old also. But that would have involved mailing them a copy of pay stub for income verification. Going over 15 large total was the reason they said. Asked and was told there would be no impact on my credit rating which I value highly! |

Mine was resolved when I called them. I had put a Credit Statement couple months ago, and that was holding up the credit report. They said I will get teh card in 5 business days... ready to activate. BTW - "Activation is defined as making a purchase, balance transfer or cash advance with this credit card." Sp remember to make some purchase on this card for the offer of free DVD player to b ecome efective. |

Once you activate the card and make a purchase, is there anything you have to do? or just wait for the dvd player to come? |
