Here's one for those of you waiting to use the 3% DPA and 3% FatCash at Dell Home. This all depends on using the $300 Off Inspiron Desktops $1049+ • w/ Coupon
C9$W2RMGM22XVL • (one coupon per cart - exp after 4000 uses) exp 6/19/08 and the DPA 3% off trick and FatCash. Here's how it goes:

- Start here and select the Inspiron Desktops that start at $379
- Select the Inspiron 530 for $379 and customize with Windows XP
- Choose the as selected system for $379
- Now start selecting the options with the Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 (8MB L2 cache,2.4GHz,1066FSB) [add $180]
- The on the OS tab select Genuine Windows® XP Professional [add $20]
- And the 24 inch E248WFP Entry Widescreen Digital Flat Panel Monitor [add $440]
- Then upgrade the ram to 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz- 2DIMMs [add $50]

That gives a total of $1069. Take off the $300 coupon, the 3% DPA trick, and don't forget the %3 FatCash. That gives a total of $723.55. The monitors have been reselling for about $350. That gives a quad machine, with WinXP Pro, for $373.55.

Not to bad .. even for Dell!

Thanks for the link - Just ordered six of these (had to place order 1 at a time) but good deal before the XP runs out.

Weren't these cheaper a few weeks ago? I'm not one to linger on old deals, but I need to pick up a 530 and I was waiting for the cheaper price to come around. What makes this one better than the ones we could get a few weeks ago in the $6xx price range? (other than the fact that you can still get this one) Is it XPPro over Vista?

The XP pro option is usually about $99. I think it's still $99 over in Dell SB.

What's the DPA trick?

Instead of upgrading the RAM ($50 for 1 additional GB) is there any other "FW worthy" Dčll add-on to get over the $1049 coupon threshold? I was thinking about adding the $60 8300GS video card (which is pretty low-end) or perhaps the similarly overpriced firewire card for $30. I just can't see paying $50 for 1GB of memory. Any good $30+ filler deals from Dčll?

I did a search and found it explained here.
