OOS online. The link does not work since it's OOS, so you'll need to cut and paste below:

I've never seen any video cards at my local Wal-Marts except maybe a circa-2004 model, so I doubt these are available anywhere in stores. It's pretty amazing that WallyWorld online not only carries mid-lower level graphics cards, but now carries the HD 3870 X2 card which, only a month or so ago, was the fastest graphics card available.

Incidentally, while this is a great price, anyone looking at a Diamond HD 2600 card should be aware that the fans are incredibly loud, the loudest I've ever heard on a video card. The fan on the Diamond HD 2600xt I bought is literally as loud as a hair dryer set on low and probably 3-4x as loud as the fan on my Radeon HD 3850, which is a much, much faster card; the fan in the photo of this HD 2600pro looks to be the same as on my 2600xt. Diamond tech support is also crappy - I emailed them about lowering the sound levels on the fan on my 2600xt and they couldn't be bothered to respond.

You care to elaborate on how you think that they could assist in "lowering the sound levels on the fan."

They said to put a blanket on the computer. I had to e-mail them about the card overheating. They told me to remove the blanket. I had to e-mail them about teh noise. They told me to put a blanket on the computer

Easiest way to lower the noise coming from the fan is to disconnect the power plug for the fan of the video card from the card itself....that will make it run very silent, but will also void your warranty.

And you are complaining that they didn't respond? There isn't a way to lower the sound levels from a production device without replacing parts (which would void your warranty most likely).....good golly.

They could issue a BIOS patch. I've seen it before.

Second that. The fan should hit max speed only if the temp rises; sometimes it's just at max for no good reason.

Precisely the sort of information I was attempting to obtain or perhaps a link to some sort of GPU utility that would allow me to control fan speed. I've subsequently tried Rivatuner, but its fan speed settings had no impact, so I'm not sure if that's a motherboard/BIOS issue or a video card issue. I'm debating whether it makes more sense to replace the HSF on the card or just eBay it and buy a new, fanless model.

If Diamond didn't have a solution, then they could have simply responded and told me that and suggested that I consider an after-market cooler but advise that that might void my warranty. No response to a legitimate inquiry = poor customer service.
