I heard the 4850 started selling today at Best buy and decided to go get one and try it out. When I got there, they had a tag listing them on sale for 149.99. This didn't show up at the register, but the did override the price. I picked myself up 2!. This was in Amercian Fork Ut.

The Best Buys in may area had no price tag on the 4850.

It scanned at $199. When I went to Customer Service they confirmed that it was only for "Select" Visiontek products. It was on their website with the 4850 at regular price.

A big YMMV!

They had the tag up at Best Buy in Westminster CO. But they did not have any in stock, So I went to another store and bought it at regular price, and went back the the Westminster BB and had them price match. Lucky they are close to each other.

nevermind big thread over at SD about this.

Worked for me at the York, PA BB, but first they had to find the unopened crate of cards in the back room. Rang up at full price at the register. They manually reduced it to $149.99. Asked them to try the 10% USPS Mover's Pack discount---didn't work. Final price about $159 after taxes---no rebate for a change. Yay.

Did you happen to get it at the Flatirons Store or the Northglenn store?

Why FW is always late compared to SD?

superb deal if you need one. It is about neck to neck with 9800GTX
be aware of a very high temperature from the GPU core, not good for small case

None on the shelf at the Brighton Michigan store yet and no label on any shelf. CS rep asked if he could help. I asked when was BB planning to drop the price of the 9800GTX now that Nvidia dropped the recommended retail price to $200. The 9800GTX on the shelf is still priced at $350.

The Northglenn store, they had 3 left in stock. For some reason the Westminster store shows 2 in stock, but no one could find them.

Just because you don't see threads with Credits to FW from FW doesn't mean we're late all the time.

not all the time, just this time. FW post 6/20, SD post 6/19.

I just picked one up at the Winston Salem, NC store. I got a manager to do an override to give it to me at $150 and I used a 12% off rewardzone coupon I received for my birthday to make it $140.90 out the door! There were still about 4 more on the shelf at my BestBuy.

Can't really justify the video card, since I don't *need* it...I'm not a gamer or anything. My kids are, but they aren't coming around lately (long story), so...hmmmm....maybe, since I'm working from home and consulting more these days, I should get back into gaming. Heck, the last game I really played was Diablo II.

And I do have a kick-@$$ HP Pavilion w2207 22" wide-screen LCD...heck, my whole PC cost me -$9.19.

Then again, my XFX nVidia GeForce™ 7600GS 256mb DDR2 PCI-E Dual DVI is "good enough" for me...it's got a 4.7 Windows Experience Gaming graphics rating (4.3 for Desktop performance for Windows Aero)...decisions, decisions...

I'm still mad at BB 800-cust. serv. for telling me the Visiontek HD3650 OC 1 GB PCI would
stay on sale for $79.99 for 2 wks instead of 1.

C'mon...everyone knows that CSRs don't know jack, and whatever they say is 99.8% of the time wrong. Plus, BB sales are *always* one week long, not two.

Just remembered (and found it) that I have a BB 10% off cpn from my USPS moving package. Doesn't exclude video cards or anything, so should be able to use it... Which means if I can score it, it'd be $149.99 - $15 (10% cpn) = $134.99 + tax ($9.45, 7% FL) = $144.44 OTD.

Arent u from Jax ?..

I did score one from the Avenues Bestbuy, Jacksonville. They had the tag for it but no boxes. Had him pull them from the back.. (it was a hassle).. Had them adjust the price from 199 to 149. Returned the HD3870 bought two weeks ago.. so they did a exchange, got the additional 12% i used with the HD3870.

Worth a try. Since the 25% off of visiotek (Page 22 of the Weekly Ad) is still active.
